I have been going to a chiropractor for about 2 months now due to neck and shoulder pain and migraines. I recently starting having some lower back spasms, probably from sitting in dialysis chair for so long. My chiropractor started doing low back adjustments just last week. So far my neck and shoulder pain and migraines are gone but my back still spasms sometimes. Today during my lower back adjustment I felt a pinching cramping sensation in my pelvic area. Afterward I went to dialysis and had light cramps in my lower right abdomen. Do you think this is from the adjustment? Should I be getting lower back adjustments with a PD catheter? I will start using the catheter next week.
Thanks,
Janet

Not sure on this. But Im sure someone here may know the answer! You might ask neph or PD nurse at your clinic! Sorry I can't help Janet!

Right after I had my catheter placed, I had to be very careful. The chiro did everything while I was on my back. Now that I've healed, I can lay on my stomach for an adjustment. As for the pinching you felt, it sounds like your catheter shifted. Mine used to lay right on my uterus and would made drains feel like childbirth, but now it is on the left and higher, so I get more gentle cramps in my intestines when I drain. If you still feel discomfort, you should lie down and try to get it to shift again...
and of course, tell your nurse. :)
