Title: pain after pd catheter insertion surgery
Post by: jshabanian on October 13, 2011, 03:12:28 PM
I just had my pd catheter placed about 3 weeks ago.  At the same time I had "many" hernias repaired. Is it normal for me to feel pinching/cramping pain in my lower abdomen and "private" area?  I feel lots of pressure in the "private" area as well.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Is the pain during a PD treatment or when you're doing nothing? If it's just happening, you may want to consult ypur doctor. Although he may tell you it's normal because of the hernia repairs. If the pain is while you're draining during a treatment, just look down this page to see how many have felt it.

Thank you for your response, Jeanna!  The pain going away so it must just be the healing process.
