Hey guys!
Well my transplant date sure did come quick! Can't wait to get back to a normal ish life as long as everything goes well! Was a bumpy ride especially the bloody interview me and my mum had to do to make sure she wasn't selling the kidney to me. Bloody ridiculous but all done and authorised on the same day it was submited lol. I'll let ya know how eveything goes!
Adam :)

Fantastic! :yahoo; Congratulations! I hope you and your mother have a quick and uneventful recovery! I can't wait to hear all about it. Look around in the Transplant Stories section and find out alll kinds of stuff to do to prepair for transplant (even though you have just a few days left ;)) what to take to the hospital, etc. Good Luck!! :beer1;

:2thumbsup;
I'm so sorry to hear they put you through the third degree about your Mom donating, how horrible they thought that! :(
It's just a standard interview over here (UK) where they need to check birth certificates/marriage certificates/photographs and ask you questions to make sure you know each other and you're not being coerced into it. It's simply to ensure that it's all above board, and all live donors and their recipients have to have one in order to be approved by an independent panel ... mine wasn't too bad and was all done and dusted within minutes.
-
Wow! That is such great news!! :clap;
It encourages me. I have given up several times with all the things and tests. :banghead; Maybe I will try again!
You and your Mom are in my prayers! :pray;
-
Congratulations! That's fantastic. I hope everything goes smoothly for both of you. Don't be surprised if your recovery is a bit faster. You are going from minimal to excellent kidney function while your Mom may take a while for her remaining kidney to pick up the slack. So she may continue to be more tired than you for a while. Don't overdo trying to look after her. She will be fine!

Congratulations and good luck.

Congratulations! Although your Mom's initial recovery might make her feel worse, your surgery is much more involved. You will have soreness from the incision, the muscles, and moving things around. But, the well being overall is very noticable right away. Take the physical part slow and easy, but enjoy feeling more "with it" than you have for a long time. Several members told me to give my body 3 months for it to heal. (But you are much younger!!! LOL) Each month just gets better and better. I know your Mother would do anything to help you. She must be very excited too. Looking forward to hearing all about it. :2thumbsup;

That's wonderful news! Best of luck to you both!
