2011 Holiday Gift Exchange
Happy Holidays! :santahat;
This is the same post as last year... thank you whoever wrote it (Kitkatz) :-*
Attention: Members with less than 50 posts must be approved before you are allowed to participate.
Here are the details:
--- This is a "Secret Santa" type of exchange. I will randomly draw names to assign people. You will not know who is sending you a gift. You will only know who you are sending to (you can identify yourself in the package.)
--- Gift(s) value should be around $10.00-$20.00, but no less than $10.00 (USD - sorry don't know the exchanges for different currency). As far as what the gift should be, that's up to you. You may want to research your person's posts to try to get an idea of what they may like.
Use this thread to list your likes and dislikes, allergies, etc. to give ideas as to what your Secret Santa might send you. (Worked well last year, I see no need to change it now)
--- You must sign up by PM'ing your info to me (Rerun) NO LATER THAN October 20th. To be included on the Holiday Exchange list you must send me your snail mail address and phone number (optional).
--- Names will be drawn and announced (by PM) on November 2nd.
--- Gifts must be mailed out NO LATER THAN November 23rd, and sooner if you are sending overseas.
If you want to participate, please PM RERUN your info. We will have copies of all the mailing addresses, and of course whoever is sending you a gift will have your address, but it will not be posted publicly. I will not send out phone numbers, those are for office use only.
Please use this format in the PM:
Screen name
Real name (first and last)
Complete mailing address
Phone number (Optional)
If you are willing to sending a gift overseas (it may cost a little extra for shipping)
Outside of the US must have a phone number.
We will post a final list of who is participating as we receive the information.
If you sign up for the exchange and fail to send a gift you will be banned from IHD for 90 days. :popcorn;
If you have any questions, please post in this thread or PM RERUN.

Of course we are in (Bajanne and lilBajanne)!!! Can't PM yet. I am getting the address of a friend in next door US Virgin Islands so that for anyone sending from the US, it will be domestic mail. Last time the friend whose address I used went away to Trinidad and we didn't get them until January!!
I (we) have never been disappointed with the gifts we received!!!
BUT WE ARE IN!!!
Anyone who gets Lilbajanne, remember that she collects shot glasses. She has a marvellous collection and is always glad to add to it. (my oldest sister went to Finland this year and a cousin to Alaska and she got those shotglasses!)
-
I like socks. I'm in desperate need of the footy kind (size 8 womens). I have 2 little dogs that love treats. I LOVE office supplies of any kinds like sticky notes or pens or pencils. I would like no snow this year. Rain is okay but not freezing rain.
Come on you guys list your likes to help your future SANTA out. :santahat;
-
likes and dislikes...hmmmmm.....candles, tea, dark (the darker the better) chocolate, fat pens, tea pots and tea for one sets, anything from your part of the country or world, teddy bears, the color purple. and apparently run on sentances!
-
likes and dislikes...hmmmmm.....candles, tea, dark (the darker the better) chocolate, fat pens, tea pots and tea for one sets, anything from your part of the country or world, teddy bears, the color purple. and apparently run on sentances!
:clap; :rofl; That is great! It is so much like me, I had to check to make sure I hadn't signed in under another name!
I love Purple (my husband and I were both born in Feb and married in Feb!), candles that I can burn, kitchen gadgets of all kinds (especially if they are unique to your area), coffee & fancy tea cups (I usually get mine at yard sales or thrift stores. Yes, I use them). Tea for one sets, teddy bears, and magnets from your area. I have a cat & a dog and it is usually so hectic at my house that noisy toys are fine! :lol;
I'm not a pen person but my husband is! If we ever get a chance to meet, hang on to your pens or they will end up in his pocket! For his 50th, I arranged a party at our Church and asked everyone to bring a pen. He was thrilled!!
Can't think of any thing else right now! :lol;
:thx; :santahat;
-
Ive PM'd you Rerun, Hope i can be included with being a newbie! :flower; x
-
I'll have to think about my likes.. I have far too many.. *LOL*
This list will most likely be added to up until, well, Christmas. *L*
Stuffed animals
Candy
Candles
Odd (but inexpensive) gadgets. Last year, GothicLoveMonkey sent me a fan that you can broadcast messages with the blades. It needs batteries.. *LOL*
trinkets or oddities from your area
postcards, books (I like YA or vampire books)
Music.. I love local up and coming, doesn't really matter the genre
And, if my SS is in the US, I'll take anything from the Daily Show or Colbert Report section of the Comedy Central store, as they will not ship to Canada. psst... Stephen unveiled a set of stamps tonight....
-
Have less than 50 psts,but would love to be a part of the holiday gift exchange. Greetings from Kansas
-
I'm also a noob and would love to participate in all the fun. Please let me know and I will PM my details.
-
Too much trouble with newbies not following through. So, if you can get 30 posts in by October 20, 2011 we will let you in.
But you have to get back to me on October 20, 2011 on your progress because I can't keep track of all that and this too.
So, if you have your posts in.... 30...... contact me. I know it was 50 posts but if you can make 30 you are committed to the project.
Thank you...... the Admins and The Mean Santa :snowman;
-
Come on, Newbies....
Get those posts up... You can't miss out on the infamous IHD Secret Santa....
Good to see you, Wenchie!....
Love...
Darth....
-
Wenchie!! You've been missed. :cuddle;
Likes: I'm easy; things related to Paris ---- notepads, little frames, anything about or relating to Paris.
I also have a huge Maine Coon cat that I adore. And I like things from your area.
Macgoose and Pinky_22 -- start posting! We want you to beable to join the exchange. And we want to get to know you more. There are days that I can post 25 and still have things I want to say or ask. I'll be watching!! LOL :rofl;
-
I'm easy (I think). No smelly stuff please!! I would love things from the local area. T shirt size L in ladies. I enjoy gardening, reading, tea.
Hubby also likes stuff from where you live. His t shirt size is M in men's but he is tall. He also likes baseball caps. He likes carpentry, outdoor stuff, a food unique to where you live. He wants to collect flags from different parts of the world so a local flag would be nice as well.
Can't wait to find out whose name I have and start buying!!!
-
I'm easy....or hard! :rofl; :rofl;
Not picky at all, but I'm allergic to some fragrances so it's best to avoid things that smell good. Send something that smells bad instead. :rofl;
Love t-shirts, especially local ones. (I get scads of compliments on a very cool Route 66 t-shirt from California!)
I don't really collect anything, in fact, I'm not really into "stuff" except paper. I LOVE interesting paper and I use it to make cards. I can hardly wait to go shopping!
:santahat;
Aleta
-
I told about Lilbajanne's shot glasses, but not about what I like. I particularly like things from your neck of the woods. If you send a t-shirt it should be 1X or 2X. Favourite colour is purple (well, more lilac)
-
So far there are 2 people that I know exactly what to get for them! Please, keep posting your likes and dislikes! I love to window shop so I have a pretty good idea of what my local stores have. I did forget to mention that I love anything handmade (especially Christmas items).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yippie!!!!!!...
Yes please, Rerun... Mum and I are in!!!!.....
As Mum's taking part... I'll start with her!....
1.) What is your favorite dessert? Ice cream, Cookies, Sweet things of any description.... Loves nice cookies, too...
2.) What are some of your favorite hobbies?... Reading, loves biographies, TV (HUGE Judge Judy fan!), Fancies Judge Joe Brown... I won't tell you what she says she'd like to do with him, suffice to say, it involves getting him drunk and taking advantage of him! ..., Current Affairs, Politics... Drinking a few alcoholic beverages, or it used to be.... Can't seem to deal with booze lately though.... Would get drunk on a small packet of winegums.... Does like a little tipple of Baileys or similar, though!... Doesn't like sport of any description...
3.) What colors do you like?... Pink, Red, Yellow, Green, Orange....
4.) What is your favorite candy?... Absolutely, positively LOVES Jelly Beans (by the truckload!), Fruit flavoured sweets, Mints... And because her bloods are so good, the dietitian says she can have a 'little of whatever she fancies'... Think the dietitian meant food wise inc. chocolate, but Mum says she fancies something male, tall, dark, handsome, rich, and available... Any offers???... If anyone's offering, can you send me his brother, please???.... :rofl;
5.) Do you collect anything?... Nephrologists!!!!... Wrinkles!!!... ... Really likes Silverback Gorillas... Did I mention her taste in husbands???... :rofl; ....
6.) What is your style?... Conservative, but loves sparkley, blingy broaches, pins etc to 'brighten things up a bit'....
7.) Allergic to anything?... MEN... Just kidding Lads... Mum loves men... She says that she couldn't eat a whole one, though!!!!!!..... :rofl;
8.) If t-shirt or sweatshirt is ok - give size.... Yes please... Sweatshirt if possible... Always too cold to wear t-shirts (this is Ireland!)... Large, or if close fitting, X Large... PD makes her look pregnant!... She says IHD stuff would be VERY much appreciated!... While she doesn't come online, she keeps very much in touch with what's going on through me!...
9.) Would you like a local item from your SS's home town?... Yes, please...
10.) Anything else your SS should know?.... Powered Wheelchair user, Widowed (Open to offers... Careful Lads, Mum's buried two husbands!) Anybody brave enough to offer to be number three???... Gentlemen, shall I take your running to the hills screaming as a 'No' then???.... ... Likes smellies, perfume, shower gels, etc... No bath things, please... We just have a roll in shower... Always has dry skin, so loves moisturising creams... Likes picture frames, and small mirrors (Hangbag ALWAYS has a small mirror)... Goes through Pill boxes like nobody's business... Seems to wear them out.. That's what she says anyway... Personally I think she's eating them along with the Renagel she carries in them!... She's ALWAYS cold....Cold hands and feet... LIVES in warm fleece jackets, and soft rugs while sitting... Always checking her bag for gloves, and I'm always buying warm socks etc..... Oh, and we have a Juvenile Deliquent, otherwise known as a small dog called Dougal... Mum adores her 'Little Man'!.... Wary of candles... Bit of a fire hazzard where there are people with disability... Oh and Mum has a wicked sense of humour, and is not averse to things that are a bit risque (You should see what her toothbrush is shaped as!)... Now you all know where I get my quiet, shy, retiring, nature from!... ... Oh and Mum loves Christmas things... We have several of those reindeer, turkey Christmas Ornaments, etc that 'sing'... Sing, that's a questionable description!!!... Does anybody else have to suffer those blasted things???....
Now me.....
1.) What is your favorite dessert?...Ice cream, Cookies, Cheesecake... (LOTS of cheesecake and fruit!!!!!).... I LOVE Strawberry licquorice, Aniseed flavoured anything......
2.) What are some of your favorite hobbies?... Volunteering, Reading, (LOVE True Crime, and humour!), Listening to music, particularly Ronan Tynan, Love Star Trek, and Star Trek, The next Generation (Oh I fancy Jean-Luc Picard... I'd stir HIS Earl Grey, anytime!), and I absolutely love the first trilogy of Star Wars films... LOVE Darthvadar... He's not a bad lad, really... Just got into bad company!... Well, if his mother's Irish, that's what she'll say anyway!!!... Am a bit of a TV fan... Favourite shows, Mythbusters, Deadliest Catch, and news programmes...
3.) What colors do you like?... Like green, yellow, purple, blue... I HATE pink with a passion!!!!!!.... YUCK!!!!... Mum used to dress me like a flipping Christmas Tree in pink when I was a kid... Pink shoes, and hair ribbons the size of a small house... Remember the bows Shirly Temple had???... You get the picture!... Honestly, she should have just thrown the set of Fairy Lights onto me, plugged it in, and had done with it!!!.... Now I won't even wear pink foundation garments... Nightmare... Pink is Satan's own creation!!.... Traumatised???... You bet I am!...
4.) What is your favorite candy?... Any strong flavours, fruit, clove, aniseed, mint, liquorice, etc.... LOVE chocolate, but having a nut allergy, there aren't many types of chocolate I can eat (Check the pack for allergy advice!)... Marshmallows...
5.) Do you collect anything?... Elephants... Particularly ornaments, but just about everything elephant.. If it has tusks and a trunk, I love it...
6.) What is your style?... Conservative, but love sparkley broches and pins...
7.) Allergic to anything?... NUTS!!!... Severe allergy... There are about twenty Anapen (adreneline) injections dotted around the house!...
8.) If t-shirt or sweatshirt is ok - give size:... Sweatshirt please... Extra Large, please... Love my comfort!... I would also love IHD stuff (Got to keep up with the mum)... If she looks cool, I'd like to as well!... Just because it's not me who's in ESKF doesn't mean I like D any more than she does!....
9.) Would you like a local item from your SS's home town?... Yes please (Particularly if that 'item' is male, tall, dark, handsome, rich, available, with one foot in the grave, and the other one on a bar of soap!)... ... No???.. Oh well, no harm in trying, and a girl can dream!... If I'm on the shelf for much longer, besides needing a Dust Sheet, my butt will have woodworm!!.... Bring it on!....
10.) Anything else your SS should know?... Powered Wheelchair user, Carer to my mum,... Love nice smellies... Wary of candles (scared of fire!)... Picture frames are nice, too... Like Christmas ornaments... I am joint owner to the little hooligan, otherwise known as a little dog called Dougal... Great little chap (Much as I hate to admit it!)... Write a lot of letters, so nice pens are popular... Dreadful memory due to high doses of steroids, so diaries and calenders are great... Like mirrors too... In fact, I know I'll love anything given with a loving heart (apart from nuts, that is)... I'll take a gift of a Snickers bar as a murder attempt!... Mum would take it as assistance and would probably share the Life Assurance payout!.... :rofl;
Oooooh Boy... I'm getting SO excited about this already!!!!!.... It's only 99 days till Christmas!...
Love to all...
Darth...

This is what I posted last year, with minor amendments (it would have been quicker for me to just re-think it than search for it, but nonetheless ...):
I hate Hate HATE cinnamon.
But I do LOVE Peeps (and Twinkies!). We can't get them this side of the pond.
I'm also partial to objects which are silver/pink or sparkle.
I also like kitsch-y objects. Oh, and I collect perfume bottles (old, new, small, big ...)
Other than that, I'm easy. Mumsy says I'm the easiest person to buy presents for because I'm always so happy with anything that I'm given, even things like teatowels. Easily pleased, me.
;D
-
darth: whats it shaped like, and where did she get it??????????? lol
quote (You should see what her toothbrush is shaped as!).
-
I messaged Rerun with my address, but I haven't heard anything back. ???

quote (You should see what her toothbrush is shaped as!).
Erm... Gothic... How to put this delicately... It's shaped as a, um, ahem,... Appendage!... Male appendage!!!.... :rofl;
Oh, and she got it from a friend who brought it to her when she was in hospital... Vicky thought it (along with several other similar shaped items in a basket) would make her smile... Needn't tell you, it caused uproar on the ward!!!... :rofl;
Darth...

Hi Cordelia...
Rerun probably can't find the time to PM everyone back... The Secret Santa takes a huge amount of organising, and poor RR would probably be wearing her fingers to the bone trying... But, if you look at the very first post of this thread, you'll see a list of people who are in... You're on that list!... RR seems to regularly update that list as she gets PM's from members wishing to take part...
Great to see so many people, including yourself keen to take part... This is GREAT fun!....
Love to all...
Darth...
-
i dont think theu replies, u just send it, and eventually a list will be posted, to be sure they have everyone
-

I am SOOOOO with you on pink! Ugh! I don't have any childhood traumas, but I just hate pink and it is BANNED from my house. I do have one pink-and-yellow tie-dyed shirt I've been using as a cleaning shirt to try and wear it out. Fourteen years now and it's FINALLY starting to fall apart, thank goodness!
Oh, I can't WAIT to start shopping for my SS! I LOVE giving gifts! I LOVE Christmas!
I'll have to think on my likes and dislikes. I'll never top darthvader's post, though. :rofl;
-
Rerun is great at taking care of IHD. It is a consuming task to take on, plus keep up with all the new posts. Mods read every post in their section to look for problems, questions, etc. And some times Mods take vacations or time off. If your name is on the list, you're good. It will be a few weeks before we get the names of who we are Secret Santa to. I love this gift exchange. Pam did an excellent job last year being my Secret Santa!!! :cuddle; It was like she lived next door instead of several states away! :2thumbsup;
-

Thankee kindly, DD....
You actually wear puke, I mean, pink???... I don't care that it's a cleaning shirt... It's still PINK!!!!!...... Ooooohhhhh, YUCK!!!!!... And you actually admit it???.. Oh boy!!!!.... :rofl;
An elderly friend gave me a bright Barbie pink blouse for my twenty-first birthday... There was a traveller (Gypsy) site near us... They kept horses and goats, and often they'd get loose... There were two particular goats that LOVED our back garden, and ate everything they could get their hooves on, including clothing from the clothes line... You can see where this is going, can't you???... ;D ;D ;D
I decided I had to take full advantage of this tendency.... So I got the blouse and a large jar of honey... Spread the honey all over the offending garment... Front, back, collar, sleeves, collar, the lot!... No point in half doing it... If the goats had only eaten a sleeve, I'd have been told to make a short-sleeved blouse of it... Not a hope... I wanted RID!!!!!...
So I hung the honeyed blouse onto the line, and left it to the goats... Hee Hee... The goats LOVED it!... Fought each other to get to it!... SHREDDED!!!!!... There was one sleeve intact(ish), a bit of a collar, and a half of the back of the blouse left on the line!... :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
I took the remainder of the offending article inside, ran it through the washing machine on a delicate wash (I cared that much, huh???) to remove any trace of honey... Think that's called destroying the evidence!...
Next time Esther visited, I put on my most mournful face, and told her about the goats eating my "lovely pink blouse"... Oh dear, how I kept a straight face is beyond me!!!!... I showed her the remainder of the blouse... She shared my 'concern' and sympathised!!!... :rofl;
I hate pink!!!!!!.....
Love to all...
Darth...
-
So, Darth,
I need to get this straight....
If I get your name I should send a frilly pink blouse to replace the one the goats ate, and a jar of peanut butter!
:rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
Love ya!
Aleta
-
I sent her dog treats one year that had traces of peanuts!!! Didn't think she was going to eat the treats though :rofl; :rofl; Seriously though darth I know you can't even touch anything with traces of nuts.

Don't be such a skinflint, WTW... Send at least TWO jars of peanut butter!....

Yep... I remember it well... That same year, Paris sent me jelly beans with a nut allergy warning on them... Two IHDers trying to kill me at the same time... Am I detecting a pattern here???....
Love to all...
Darth...

Suppose I should add my likes & dislikes to this section:
likes: candles (as long as they are not a "laundry soap" scent as my husband says), books (anything but romances or vampire books), kitchen gadgets, toys (no stuffed!) or treats (grain-free if possible) for my beagle - he destroys stuffed toys in seconds!, foods from your neck of the woods, esp. hot sauces!
dislikes: guess I covered those above ;D
-
Thanks, Darthvader, I missed the post, thanks so much for letting me know! I saw the list now :bandance;
Thanks so much Rerun, for organizing! :clap;
I will be back later to post my likes and dislikes ;D

You're more than welcome, Cordelia... Welcome to the IHD Secret Santa... You'll LOVE it!....
Darth...

I can't wait! :thumbup; Thanks! :cuddle; I'm sure it will be fun! :bandance;
-
This is especially for Darth & Desert Dancer: I LOVE pink! Pink & purple are my favorite colors to wear during the Summer. (Yes, sometimes together!) I have pink tops, shorts, skirts, flipflops and dresses! With the jewelery to match! :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; Just thought you might want t know that! :lol;
-
Darth, the post about you and your mom's likes totally cracked me up. My mom wants to know where your mom's toothbrush came from. She thinks a lady she works with would love it. *L*
CebuShan, if you like handmade stuff, you'd love the store my mom works in. Everything in it is handmade by local artists and craftspeople. Last year, I got Glitter a necklace and some postcards from that store. If you're lucky, I'll get you, as I usually get stuff from that store, just cuz a lot of it is really unique. If you want, they have a website.. http://www.nwknitwear.ca
Wanted to add, didn't feel like retyping.. *L*
I started collecting the Harry Potter movies, now that I've read all the books. I have the first 2 movies. At the moment, there are 5 more available

Uuuuugggggghhhhhh, CeBu.... YUCK, Yuck, and YUCK again!!!!!!.... Puke, I mean pink. No, actually, I mean PUKE!... Oh Lord... That's enough to make anyone be seriously :puke; ...

Rerun,
Even if there are an uneven number of folks the exchange can still work.
Say there are five people: A B C D and E.
Here is how an exchange can work. The first row of people will give gifts to the people on the second row:
A B C D E
B C D E A
That way everyone sends a gift and everyone receives a gift. Easy, peasy! :beer1;

I thought that was how it worked anyway.. you have your list of names, and you pull a name out of a hat for each one on the list
-
Right, if you have 29 gift givers and 29 gift receivers, no problem!
The problem is when someone neglects to send a gift, and it's too late to remove them. We had to send a replacement gift, and this is Bad!
-
I wouldn't mind sending 2 if you end up uneven. Afterall, it's part of my job to make sure things are sent on time! :lol;

OK, I'm stupid when it comes to math! I get it now. >:D

OK, I'm stupid when it comes to math! I get it now. >:D
I had to ask my husband. He's the economist, and is brilliant with numbers. I have other talents though! I have common sense (most of the time) and I've heard common sense isn't so common. You, Rerun, have uncanny wit, which is a talent you cannot learn in school!
-
What I like is pretty simple.
I like picture books of your local area. State or country or county or city, or village or township or hamlet or camping spot or where you like to fish or where you like to play sports.
I like sheet music for the piano. Or music books for the piano.
I like DVDs of sacred music.
I like mystery novels.
I would also like a small statue of the Virgin Mary.
-
I am crazy about light+color and my house is FULL of candle holders in every conceivable shade of glass. Any kind of colored glass thrills me: canisters, suncatchers, paperweights, you name it.
I appreciate anything handmade. I actually subjected Andy to a kind of litmus test when we were dating: I crocheted him a stained glass afghan for our first Christmas. He passed, I kept him and we still use the afghan.
I have a (fairly) extensive dolphin collection. While I don't really add to it anymore, I will if it's something unusual and/or one of a kind.
My favorite art style is Art Nouveau. I love the work of Alphonse Mucha.
I am a Christmas junkie and you can never, EVER go wrong with an ornament. Decorating the tree is my THING; I look forward to it all year and have spent the last several months acquiring ornaments. More ornaments! More! MORE!
My favorite colors are green and purple and the order of those two changes... mmm, hourly.
And of course, there is chocolate. In the end, there is ALWAYS chocolate.
-
1.) What is your favorite dessert? Cheese cake and burned brownies (not helpful i know)
2.) What are some of your favorite hobbies?... writing and poetry.
3.) What colors do you like?...purple, green deep blue
4.) What is your favorite candy?....dark chocolate

6.) What is your style?...casual, t-shirts, Hawaiian shirts
7.) Allergic to anything?...no perfume or smelly things please. allergic to damn near everything.
8.) If t-shirt or sweatshirt : Fine funny ones, or from your area 2X

I should tell my husband's likes. He loves pens! His favourite colour is purple. He likes collecting tool "gadgets", T-shirts (size M [nothing obscene]). He also likes Hot Wheels cars (not Matchbox!) He's a huge NASCAR fan (favourite driver is Jimmie Johnson) Also likes the Oakland A's & the Oakland Raiders. He likes Reese's Peanut Butter Cups once in a while but he really loves gum! Favourite actor is Clint Eastwood. I think that's it. LOL!
-

I've never done one of these, so I figured I might as well..
1.) What is your favorite dessert? Lemon Meringue pie or any kind of ice cream.
2.) What are some of your favorite hobbies? I read, watch movies, write, and take lots of pictures
3.) What colors do you like? Emerald green
4.) What is your favorite candy? Jolly Ranchers, Werther's, fuzzy peaches, jelly beans.. any hard candy, really.. except for peppermints.. I really don't like those
5.) Do you collect anything? Stuffed animals, books, movies, dust
6.) What is your style? I'm a ratty tshirt and sweat pants kinda gal. I don't care for extravagance. I find it gaudy
7.) Allergic to anything? Nothing that I would expect to get in a gift
8.) If t-shirt or sweatshirt : Can be funny, from your area, unique or unusual. I don't mind swear words or poop humor.. pretty much anything goes.. size XXL or as big as possible
9.) Would you like a local item from your SS's home town? oh yeah. And the tackier, the better. I love that kind of stuff. Case in point, a few years ago, when I spend Christmas in the hospital, the nurses gave me a bag of snowman poop, which was just a bag of little marshmallows. I thought it was hilarious
10.) Anything else your SS should know? When it comes to scented things, can't go wrong with vanilla or strawberry. I'm also a bit of a gadget nut. I like stuff that does stuff. it doesn't have to be huge or anything, I once had a pen with a magnifying glass in it, so any item that has more than one use would probably work. I once went nutty in a Radio Shack, when I found a flashlight with a radio in it, and I have one of those flypen computer in a pen deals, but never really did anything with it cuz it didn't recognize my writing.. *LOL*
-
I am not much of a desserts person, but anything sweet will not go to waste around here, no, not even marzipan, that grotesque stuff that lures you in by looking so delicious but turns out to be almond-flavored sand.
Allergic to both pennicillian and zithromax. In fact, I don't react well to most antibiotics. Please don't buy me any. I have sensitive skin all of a sudden, so please no lotions/soaps/bath salts/etc. I love floral scents, really do not care for anything food-scented.
Favourite color is a deep orange. I like earth tones in general, and look crap in pastels. There is very little blue in my house as it clashes with the décor.
Style: classic, dramatic, just short of outrageous. I don't eat animals, but I'll wear them. House is decorated with an even mix of African and Asian influence. Love both, prefer the African.
I collect art. Or as they say in anthropology “Capital-A Art”.
I like fitted Ts with a v-neck, usually a size small. I will wear oversized shirts to bed, though. Don't really wear sweatshirts, although I am not adverse to a fitted hoodie. Something understated with your city name or something, I probably won’t wear any humor shirts unless I find it really clever, and must be g-rated or I’ll be calling you to explain the naughty words to my children….
I like reading, especially drawn to the most challenging of lit. I own a Nook and I find it delightful. Favourite authors include Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Thomas Mann, Heinrich Boll, Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Dickens, JM Coetzee. In the theatrical realm I am a straight up absurdist, give me Edward Albee or Christopher Durang any day. I think I own everything Tennessee Williams that ever was, but you could try....
I adore drinking teas, chatting with people, writing to friends, having adventures in the outdoors with the family, traveling to exotic locales. Love languages, especially Spanish/French/Welsh/Arabic. Anything with a quirky story behind it and/or cultural significance would be fantastic.
Yes to something from your area. Please! You must!
I am a liberal vegetarian atheist. Probably should have started there since it tells you all you need know. ;D
-

This is what I would like from my secret santa:
I would like for my SS to go out and buy a journal. It can be a crappy old notebook, I don't care. And then, from the time that you learn you are my secret santa until the time you get fed up, I'd like for you to write in your journal your thoughts of the day. I don't care what you write...it can be your grocery list! Anything that gives me a little insight into your daily life. You can write about your deepest, darkest secret. You can write about your dreams, your fears, or you can write about the mundane crap of the day. You don't have to write every day; you can write in it only once if that is what suits you. You can just draw pictures if you want. Doesn't matter. You can even make it a scrapbook if you prefer.
If that's too much work, or if you are uncomfortable with that, I'd like a copy of your favorite book, perhaps signed by you and with a short explanation about why this is your favorite.
-
1.) What is your favorite dessert? Really good chewy chocolate chip cookies. Even when I'm trying to lose weight, I CAN NOT resist them! So do be kind and DON"T send any. :rofl;
2.) What are some of your favorite hobbies? I study Russian and would love a VERY short book of Russian poetry! I also enjoy making cards and scrapbooking.
3.) What colors do you like? Really anything, but I lean toward teals and black.
4.) What is your favorite candy? dark chocolate
5.) Do you collect anything? I don't collect too many things, but I'm addicted to stickers that I can use in scrapbooking.
6.) What is your style? I wish I had style. Unfortunately, I'm just kind of, well, me.
7.) Allergic to anything? Ack! I'm allergic to some perfumes. And men's cologne seems to be the worst. Please do NOT send me any men's cologne!
8.) If t-shirt or sweatshirt : large for wearing out, or XL for lounging in.
9.) Would you like a local item from your SS's home town? No, I would not like it, I would LOVE it!
10.) Anything else your SS should know? Hmmm. I am not picky. But I love shopping for others! :2thumbsup;
-

Is the 20th when we will find out who we have to buy a gift for? :clap;
That info is in the 1st post in this thread. http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=24352.msg393113#msg393113
Rerun can distribute names earlier if she's ready.
-
Rerun can you please do the draw long before Nov.2. If it has to be mailed overseas (especially to NZ and Australia) it takes months if you don't send airmail and airmail costs a lot more than regular mail. Would have cost me almost $80 last years to sent the gift airmail!! So please can you let us know early!!! I had to send to Ireland one year and it didn't get there until Feb even though I mailed it before Nov. 23!!

I mailed to Ireland last year and tried to be as vague as possible while still being truthful.
If Darth ever gets her hands on me I am in big trouble. I sent a squeaky toy for Dougal in the package. Who would have thought that would be dangerous? (for me) :rofl;

Oh yes, Marc... I'm STILL gunning for you!... A squeaky toy for Dougal... Now Folks, Dougal never bothered with squeaky toys before, but for some strange reason, he took a huge liking to this cuddly, squeaky elephant!... Squeak, squeak, flipping squeak... What's not to love!... Particularly when he decides it's time to squeak at 1am!... And just for good measure Mum's saying 'It's beginning to look a bit worn, we'll have to look for a similar toy'... I've been 'forgetting' to go looking!.... Marc, if I ever get my hands on you, that blasted toy's being shoved up your, erm, left nostril!.... :rofl;
Yes Folks, be vague... Don't exactly lie, but be a bit 'economical' with the truth!.....
Only thirty days to Christmas!!!...
Love to all....
Darth....
-
Whoever has Darth as their Secret Santa PM me if you dare. I can tell you where to pick up a great toy for Dougal. Just make sure there is at least 1 ocean between you and Darth. :cuddle;

Marc.... Have you forgotten about those big metal things called aeroplanes???... We have them here too!..... Remember, I might get Mum into Respite and get to the next IHD meet!!!!!!..... And if I do, as God is my witness, kidney failure will be the least of your problems!...
Let me at him!!!!!!..... :rofl;
Darth....
-
Uh oh...Better start looking to see if they will let me into the witness protection program. I already grew a beard, maybe you won't recognize me.

Well unless you were wearing gloves and a mask when you wrapped those gifts, your DNA will be all over them!!!!!.... Well maybe Dougal's drool will have distorted the evidence on the toy.... Now to have a chat with a friend who's a forensic scientist!.... Marc, your past may be about to catch up with you... Painfully!.... :rofl;
Darth....
-
OK! I, too, have encountered some issues. Nothing catastrophic, but I am having to rethink a bit and have given myself a strict deadline to ensure that my person receives the package on time.
Above all else, Santa must be reliable, and this Santa takes her work seriously. :secret; (*....but in a fun way*)
Ho Ho Ho and all that

Same for me, Karol. Just take care of yourself and don't sweat the small stuff. :cuddle;
So sorry to hear about the injury! How on earth did this happen to you?
-
I was at a friends apartment after a long day of photography and driving. I was leaving to go home, about to say good bye, not looking down. There's one step from her dining room to living room, didn't see it, stepped into air and landed on one ankle, twisted the other. So embarrassing! After icing and Motrin I had to drive 30 mins home. We iced both ankles and I didn't sleep well. Today I am better, staying quiet and catching up on "Hell on Wheels", "Modern Family", "Celebrity Rehab" and hoping each day is better. Thanks for asking.
-
Hope your ankles feel better soon okarol!!! Take care :grouphug;

OUCH !! That must have really hurt. You have some time so don't worry about this...... You get well.

We don't celebrate Christmas on December 25th. We are Orthodox Christian and follow the old calendar so for us Christmas is January 7th. I figured my giver didn't want to wait around until then to find out if I liked my gift. ;D

He is fighting to save his foot. Has an infection that kept him in the hospital for 8 days. He is now home and on antibiotics. He neph would not allow a pic line or a central line so I am giving one antibiotic 2 hours into his dialysis treatment with a special cartridge and the other one I am doing a push into his venous needle before I pull it after the treatment is over. He has to stay off his foot completely for 6 to 8 weeks so I found this really nifty knee wheel chair so he can get around the house and we are making the best of it. Kinda draining us financially because the antibiotics are so costly, but were making the best of it.
-
So sorry to hear, I hope he improves. Doesn't Medicare cover his meds?

I'm very sad to hear this. I'm surprised that insurance will not cover the antibiotics. When there was an issue with some of Carl's meds we were able to fight the decision not to cover (and win), because he is on anti-rejection drugs.
Thinking of you. (Enjoyed the article about you guys in the NxStage news).

Dear Secret Santa,
I came home from a brief spell in town to discover a parcel sitting on my kitchen counter! Yay! Thank you! Am I right to assume that the 'Do Not Open Till 25th December' plastered all over the box means thing/s inside aren't wrapped? It took all my willpower not to look at the customs note thingy!
Oh, and I'm very tempted to send you something in the new year simply because I want to reimburse you for the postage ... how much?!! Yikes! I'm starting to feel all Christmassy now.
Love, Poppy x
;D
(Vicki, sorry to hear about hubby. Hope things improve.)
-
Oh..only 20 days to go....I still don't see that my recipient has acknowledged receipt of the gift I sent a couple of weeks ago...I sure hope so. I have not received one yet but I just know any day it will arrive. Mail sometimes is kinda slow out here in BFE :rofl; Or maybe my SS knows I would torment myself every day until Christmas looking at it so they are waiting to send it just in the nick of time.
-
I can make lists...... What do you want? The ones who have sent and received or just the ones who have sent?
There are 9 people who have not sent yet. How can we ban the ADMIN and one of our Moderators?? :rofl;
20 Days Left!!!! :yahoo;
-
So sorry to hear, I hope he improves. Doesn't Medicare cover his meds?
Medicare does not become primary until July so we have to go through his prescription plan and it has a pretty high co-pay.

20 Days Left!!!! :yahoo;
Yeah BAN ME! :waiting;
20 days to go - No problem!

I dont think my reciever will know who sent theirs, because it got sent prematurely by my wonderful father, and I have no idea if he put anything on there about ihd! (my dad is super awesome to send that for me, but im a bit sad because i had another thing i wanted to send with it!) Unfortunately, it still has not arrived so its probably best he did send it when he did! Maybe it will come at some point before christmas? lol
I havent recieved mine yet but i did get theirs sent off! Just to keep u updated :)

My present is here! My present is here! :yahoo; I came home from a quick trip downtown to find a HUGE package on my front porch. I opened it up to find a whole mess of presents, CHOCOLATE, and strict instructions with the promise of a mystery. There's even a present for Andy!
The chocolate went into the pockets of my advent calendar, though I can't imagine they'll stay there too long. The presents will go straight under the tree as soon as I get my act together and finish it. Eight hundred lights on a six-foot tree is no joke.
I must say, when you shake them they don't sound anything like what they look like.
-
Yeah BAN ME! :waiting;
*LMAO*
-
I can say I got my gift. It is in St Thomas (next door island) waiting for me. At least I can't be tempted to open it. Please don't ban me. I need to go to St. thomas to post our gifts, but it will be rush so that the recipients will get them before Dec 25.
-
I received my gifts a while ago and they look just beautiful. (From the outside - I've been good.) THANK YOU SECRET SANTA!!!!
The wait is killing me, but the kids are keeping me honest. I shall report back after the big day. :cheer: :cheer:
-
It's has officially been one month since I sent my gift, and there has been no word that it has been received. Yes, it was sent overseas. Yes, I still have the customs declaration and the receipt for postage paid at my local post office. Does it really take this long for a package to travel abroad? Should I be worried?
-
I posted a package overseas about 6 weeks ago and it hasn't arrived yet. Posted another gift to overseas about 4 weeks ago and that hasn't arrived yet either. A couple of years ago I had a lady in Ireland. I posted long before the deadline of Nov. 21 and it didn't arrive until Feb!!!
-
I got my Santa's gift! Thank you!
My package was sent out to the recipient last week of November...

Oh, that's just great. ::) Well, there's still a few weeks to go, so I won't worry just yet. Thanks for letting me know, del! I hope my recipient gets his/her gift before February! Good lord!
-
So sorry that I haven't updated! We received both of our packages earlier this week but I was getting ready for my surgery and didn't have time to post. Jim's said not to open until Christmas so we assume it is not wrapped inside; mind doesn't saw that but I didn't open it yet just to be sure. I love the suspense of waiting! Jim has shaken and squeezed his! Lol! He is such a kid when it comes to Christmas morning! I love to "drag" it out because it drives him crazy! I lay in bed as long as I can, then I have to have coffee (which I stretch out as long as possible). One year, I managed to drag it out until 1:00 pm! Haven't even come close since then! :rofl; Thank you, Secret Santas!
-
Now I got another package! Lucky me!! :bandance;
:pray; I've sent mine, hope it arrives in time!
-
I have nothing yet. And I know my package arrived to my person! Rerun says so!
-
I haven't got mine yet either
-
I am waiting patiently for my package as well. :banghead; :stressed; ::) ??? :( :pray;
-
I haven't gotten mine yet either.
-
OK, I've PM'd the late Santas......... Sorry guys! I haven't got mine either. I doubt I will since the person has not posted since November 20. I hope she is okay. ???

:waiting;
-
Yep... Twiddling thumbs this year!...
The gifts Mum and I sent to our people have arrived safely... Phew!....
Mum's gift from her SS has arrived, thank you Santa!...
Just mine to arrive now...
Only fourteen days to go!...

I had an overseas packsge to send out also...got delayed due to hospital for 18 days , Went to UPS they were closed on Black Fridak , Fed Ex wanted 237.00 due to jet fuel (told them I disdnt need a seat just a small area
for it to go in . Went to USPS and it was 37.00 in the box it was in. If it could fit in 1 box smaller it could be 27.00 . After pricing the box and the trip home to repack . I left it in the original box.
Heard from the recippient that it was received about 9 days (or so) after posted . That was from the
US east coast (we have the worst mail substaion in the country according to USPS report) ane it was going to
the beautiful Emeral Isle.
Maybe just pure luck it was received or the 10 million dollar insurance policy I put on it.lol :shy;

My secret santa called me and she has been sick and has that beautiful new grandson living with her so she has been busy.
She will mail my pressy soon. I'm just glad she is okay. :thumbup;
None of the late secret santa's have PM'd me back. :banghead;
Bajanne and lilbajanne have yet to get to St. Thomas to mail theirs. Ooops that may give a clue to 9 people.
-
OKay, so I am sitting here waiting. Usually by now I have a package I am petting.
-
:waving; Ok I am so so sorry but I received my secret Santa around ten days ago and it is sitting under my tree! I have been so busy that I haven't even shook or poked it! My sister had a transplant last week in a paired exchange, so my brother in law is in the hospital too. It's amazing that I haven't had a go at it!
I have also posted my package, so it should arrive soon. Sorry Rerun for having to chase me!
:santahat; :santahat; :santahat; :santahat; :snowman;
-
I am another one who has not received yet....but the anticipation is killing me! I just know every time a delivery driver comes up that this is it....I rush to the door.....but no...it's just more dialysis supplies.... :rofl;

I have PKD too!
-
Oh Wattle! How awesome that your sister got a kidney! What a great Christmas gift for her!
-
Merry Christmas to Wattle's sister!!
OK, I'm a happy elf because my gift has been received AND my prezzie from my Secret Santa arrived today! I know that this is a very busy time for all Secret Santas, and I know that mine probably has lots of family obligations and other stuff going on. Not only that, but all kinds of weird things happen at this time of year that can put Secret Santas out of commission for a while. So I am very grateful, SS, that you took the time and made the effort to send me a gift. Thank you so much, and may you have a wonderful holiday season. :cuddle; Thank you!
-
I got mine today too! It came in a great big box. *L*
She must have written the Customs tag in pencil, cuz I couldn't read it, but my mom could. *L* I think she'll keep quiet. She did open the box, while I stayed around the corner, to see if it was wrapped, and it was. Six brightly wrapped packages, which are now sitting under the tree.

so.. are there any rules to order of gifts opened?? :waiting;
I don't think so, but try and wait until Christmas........ :stressed; :santahat;
-
Well, 1 week to receive. Rerun tells me my SS is MIA. It makes me worried about them. There is still hope. Not having a spouse and no family in the area I don't get presents. One of the reasons I do IHD SS so I have a present to open on Christmas day even though I really can't afford it. I will buy my usual socks and lottery ticket so I have something in my stocking. I know presents are not what we should be concentrating on at this time of the year. I know that I have the best present I could ask for: I will be with my kids on Christmas morning and they are happy and healthy. I was able to scrape together a couple of presents for them that I know they will enjoy. Mostly I am thankful for the fact that I am here for another Christmas.
-
I am still waiting too.... maybe its lost..... maybe it was transplanted to somewhere else.........LOL
-
:)
-
Both YLGuy and Tyefly were sent on December 3rd from the state of I__ ? :yahoo; Now go through each member to see who lives in a State that starts with an "I".
It should be coming guys.
I haven't got mine either......... >:(
-
Me neither, but what's the hurry???....
YLGuy, I hope you get your gift by the big day... The person who has you as their SS has a little gem... You're a very thoughtful gift giver... Well, apart from that blasted squeaky toy!.... :rofl;
Love to all....
Darth....
-
I received my pressy today!!!! :yahoo; Thank you Secret Santa!!! It's the only present under the tree that's just for MEEEEE!! :cheer: :christmastree;
-
The only presents under our tree right now are my Secret Santa gifts. I'm kinda glad to have them, cuz it's going to be a slim Christmas
-
Ok I did the research....... I find only three people who are out of the state I_____ and one had sent their present overseas...... and YGuy person is MIA.....( there is only one of the people who haven't posted much lately....) So I think I know who my person is and I think I know who YGuy person is....... The wait is terrible..... I hate waiting....... but thru all this dialysis stuff and waiting so long to get on to home nocturnal well..... I have learned that as I am getting older I guess I do have a little more patience than I thought...... Ok I will admit it I have mellowed out...... not sure about the patience..... I have been working on that all my life....... Still like to figure things out......Thx Rerun.........LOL
-
Rerun says mine is coming in the mail from far, far away! Not here yet.
-

-
Tic Toc ... Tic Toc... Santa is coming!
:santahat;
-
It arrived today! Hurray!
-
Hubby posted his secret santa gift long before the deadline for sending overseas but it doesn't look like it is going to arrive before Christmas. GRRRRR!!!
-
My SS was very fast. I've been looking at this pile of presents since Nov 7 . Just a little bit of torture. :santahat;
Pam
-
I haven't seen my gift recipient post that theirs arrived. It was suppose to take 3-5 days, weeks ago. Hoping it arrived safely. I need to dig out the shipping receipt and see if I can track it. Mine is sitting lovely under my tree. I did give it a tiny shake - it didn't help me one bit! My husband and I are giving each other one small gift so we are able to help our daughter and her 2 kids during a really rough time. So, my Secret Santa present will be so much fun to open. Just the box reminds me what incredible friends I have here. You all lift my spirits and make my heart happy. :cuddle;
-
i know how u feel paris, my recipient has not said if they got theirs either... it worries me! especially since my dear sweet father was the person who went to the post office to send it for me so it would be on time! I didn't even know he had done it! I went to add something else to the package and it was gone lol Super sweet of him to do that for me.
I do believe the mail just be running slow this year or something, because I ordered a few things off the internet and I still havent received those either, and that was at least 2 weeks ago. Hopefully, everything gets everywhere that it needs to be on time!

Got my present. Thank you so much! I could not post because we lost electricity with the high winds and when it came back on while I was at dialysis it blew the power supply in my computer. I used a netbook and ordered a new one from Amazon for $20. I got it today and installed it and am back up.
-
I have received mine and my present has been received . I would like to thank our Moderators who have set this up.
Many may not received anything but this gift and it is heartwarming to know how many people have joined the SS this year.
Thank you again for organizing this.
Katonsdad

Bajanne and Lilbajanne have both sent and have both received, though not in their hands as yet. Our gifts are still in St Thomas until we pick them up, but we have been informed that they are there! We have sent ours and are looking forward to our recipients saying they have received them.

Our final pre-Christmas postal delivery arrived this afternoon... No SS Gift!...
Reindeer must be directionally challenged!...
It'll be interesting to see when it does arrive!....
Love to all...
Darth...
-
Me too...... I got my present today from the SS who lives In IL......... thx so much.....I am headed to the Beach...... Merry Christmas to all at IHD.........
-
Merry Christmas Everyone. I'll deal with the deadbeat Santas later.
:Kit n Stik;
-
Happy Christmas, RR...
My SS isn't a deadbeat, I promise!... It's just that the postal service in her part of the world is even worse than ours... And that's saying something!...
Not to worry, even if it never shows up, the REAL gift I have from IHD is the love, and support I get from everyone... There are people here who have literally saved my sanity (what little there is) when Mum's been really ill... There are many people here who must have the world's soggiest shoulders I've cried on them so often!... Andthe thing is, as Mum deteriorates, as she inevitably will, I know you're STILL there!...
So all in all, Folks, I'm not one bit worried about a gift... It's not important... IHD is... Your very presence is my present!...
Happy Christmas everyone!....
Love...
Darth...
-
I will send a PM to my person tomorrow because my husband forgot to include my note telling the origin of their gift. @ Darthvader - I couldn't agree with you more! IHD has truly been a blessing and a life saver! Thank you all for being there. Merry Christmas my friends! :snowman;
-
One more sleep!!! I can't wait!
-
I also want to thank Rerun for all the work that goes into this project. I love having a Secret Santa. It really is fun. And I thank all the members of IHD for being the best group I've ever known. Acceptance, support, love, humor, a shoulder to cry on, all of that and more. Epoman must be proud of this site. Thanks to the administrators who have kept his vision alive. May you all be blessed this holiday season and may you be a blessing in another's life. Love to each of you. Merry Christmas and enjoy your SS presents :2thumbsup;
-
Rerun you done a good job this year with Secret Santa. It is a lot of work. I am impatient for tomorrow to open these gifts I have received from OZ!
-
When I was a little girl, we'd open our family gifts on Christmas Eve; Santa would come during the night, and Christmas morning was when those gifts would be opened. So, that means I've opened the gift from my Secret Santa who is OKAROL!
I've PMed her my thanks, and I have to share a story that I've already told to her. I had been reading this thread and saw how Okarol had injured both ankles and how these injuries were delaying her shopping/Secret Santa-ing activities. I read how busy she had been with many renally-themed events and wondered how in the world she was going to get everything done!
So when my gift arrived, I of course first looked at the return address, and all it said was "Secret Santa", and the address was from California. I knew instantly it was from Okarol because the handwriting looked like it belonged to someone who was very, very busy and short on time. And I was right! :rofl; She was thoughtful enough to send some really nice things, the best being a T-shirt that reads, "Got Kidneys?" I mean to wear it at every strategic moment. No one is going to be able to ignore us renally challenged people...
Thanks so much, Okarol. :cuddle;
-
Now I wish we opened gifts on Christmas Eve! We've got ONE MORE SLEEP until we have a big breakfast of bacon, french toast and hot chocolate, followed by gifts! Can't wait to open my SS! :christmastree;
-
My ex's family would open all their presents when they got home from Midnight Mass. I came from a family that would open all their presents on Christmas Day. We comprimsed when we were together. The kids were allowed to open 1 present on Christmas Eve and the rest the next morning. My Parish does not have a Midnight Mass, we went at 6:30. It was a very nice service.
1 hour and 11 minutes until Christmas.
-
:bandance; :yahoo; ;D I got my gift today from my Secret Santa! I'm so excited to open it on Christmas Day! :bandance; :clap; Thank you so much, SS! :cheer: :flower;
:santahat; :snowman; :christmastree;
I hope you enjoy the gift!!!, Have a great holiday!!!! PS i'm glad it got there ppuuuuuuuu
-
THANK YOU SSs! I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!! :yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo; I think I was more excited than my son (if thats possible??) about getting up this morning!
A big huge thanks to Rerun!
Hope everyone has an amazing Christmas today! (or whatever else u may celebrate ;) )
My SS was Bajanne! Thank you so much! I love that the calendar has recipes!!! And that lil hat on the wine, too cute!!! The aroma when I opened the box was amazing! Maybe one day I will get a chance to visit that beautiful place! wow!
And, thank you Karol! Beautiful!!! I cant wait to try out the makeup!!
(not pictured- m&ms.... my son got ahold of those before i could get the pic taken!!)
Here's pic:
MerryChristmas, Happy holidays! <3
-
Tyefly was my SS and what a great one she is! I will post a pic later today but she sent me 2 shadowboxes with beautiful colorful flies. Thank you Tye! I love them and they brought the BIGGEST smile to my face. Merry Christmas to all my IHD family.
-
:rudolph;
Marc (YLGuy) was my SS!! I actually got all 'overchristmased' this morning and forgot about the little box at the back of the tree. My grandson reminded me of the 'California' box! He's 6 and forgets NOTHING that has to do with presents! He's been shaking in his boots since I got it in anticipation.
I got salt water taffy (yummers) a bookmark and a tshirt that appropriately says 'First Lady'! (It's even IHD pruple!) Ok..ok...so the Lady part might be a stretch. hehehe
Love the gift...and the spirit behind this entire group. I am absent much of the time these day, not because of lack of interest, but lack of time. Became a granny for the fifth time on December 7th...I am getting good at this stuff! Well...execept for maybe the tattooes and motorcylces..but the kids are used to that!
Merry Christmas all! And Marc, thanks again. Awesomeness abounds! :snowman;
-
1st RERUN thanks for all your hard work putting together the IHD secret santa list. 2nd to my SS whoever u are THANK you SOOOOOOOOO much, I only know it was shipped from California and I got some great t-shirts a purse, Christmas ornament and a VERY extra special something ;) I can not say thank you enough. :cuddle; :cuddle;....................Amy
-
My mom let me open my SS gifts before my dad and my bro got here. Normally, we wait and open the gifts together. My SS was Rsudock. There were 6 little gifts, plus a card. The card was cute, it made us both laugh.
She also sent, a clip on flashlight, a cosmetic bag with hand cream and lip balm in it (what every dialysis patient needs. *G*), a book (I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou), a dvd (Napoleon Dynamite), a picture frame, and some magnetic clips (great for hanging stuff on the fridge.*G*). In the picture, the card is sitting in the frame.
Thank you, Rachel, and thank you, Rerun, for organizing things this year. It was a blast, as always. *G*

Hi All....
Mum's SS was Katonsdad.... A great little note about himself accompanied the gift, and what a lovely gift it is!... A beautifully soft and warm, but extremely light fleece rug... It's striped in the most beautiful browns, oranges, yellows, etc... It's even warm just to look at!!!... Well chosen, Katonsdad... Mum loves it!... Thank you very much SS... You're a good one!....
And I got two fantastic gifts from IHD members who aren't even my SS... The lovely Aleta, AKA Willowtreewren sent me a fab calender from Tenesee... The pictures are beautiful, and the date sections are HUGE... Perfect for keeping track of Mum's hospital appointments... Thank you, Aleta...
And Kitkatz... What can I say about Kitkatz, that won't get me banned, that is!... :rofl;. Kitz sent me a great box of goodies... A beautiful silver pendant with a lovely blue stone in it, a gold coloured California Christmas Tree ornament, a metal sign on a chain sign that says 'Dear Santa, I have Issues'... LOL... Never used THAT excuse yet!.... Then there were five, yes FIVE fab T Shirts!... One is black in colour and has great pics of my namesake Darthvadar on it... Another is red, and has a US flag on it... Another is a blue 'Big Dogs' shirt... A navy shirt says 'I'm out of my mind, please leave a message'... How true, how VERY true!... The fifth shirt is Emerald green (VERY Irish) and it says 'Patrick's a saint, but I ain't!'... Too true... Too, too true!.... Kitz knows me too well....Thanks Kitz... That was a fab box!... You're one in a million, thank God... The world couldn't take too many of you!!!....
AND I've still my SS gift to arrive... Yippie, how lucky I am!!!....
Hope our people enjoy their gifts...
Love to all...

My SS was Del! Oh, my. What a treat!!!!!!
Del knows that I love to scrapbook, so she sent a lovely assortment of stickers and a pen and candy from Newfoundland. But in addition to that, a beautiful t-shirt with the provincial flower of Newfoundland. AND, she sent Carl a pair of hand-knitted (by her sister) gloves!
:guitar:
I am simply amazed!!!!!
Thank you, thank you! In the picture you will notice that the candy is opened. The whole family has been enjoying it! :clap; :clap;

Thank you thank you thank you Ms. Secret Santa PAM!!!!
I'll have to put up pre and post Christmas pickies later. The gifts were just lovely: fudge from Mackinack Island (and my sisters used to go to Summer Camp in Upper Michigan, so I've actually been there long ago and remember their famed fudge shops), a homemade soothing soap, a scented candle with beautiful candle holder and tea, tea, glorious tea with an infuser trivet (I almost bought myself one of those last week - almost!!! Close call.) and an amply sized mug for fewer trips downstairs for refills. The whole time I was opening it I was trying to figure out just who on here is from Michigan. Gwyn saw the return address - from Arizona, you sneaky devil - and thought it must be DD. We were both completely led astray. Nicely done, I just love surprises.
Cannot forget to give a huge thank you to Rerun for making this go off so smoothly.
A Happy Christmas to everyone and thanks for making my first Secret Santa endeavour so much fun. :-* :grouphug;
-
I just want to let my gift recipient know that your gift is on its way, I feel bad that it couldn't arrive by Christmas Day though. Unfortunately circumstances with financial stuff came up and I had to wait to be able to mail it. I just want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope your holidays are wonderful and your gift should be arriving soon.
As for my secret Santa, I will be opening my gift this afternoon, but for now thanks already!!!

Thank you sooo much to our Secret Santas! I have photos but I can't figure out how to get them to post! Jim's SS was Looneytunes. He got a couple of Hotwheels cars, some gum, and a pair of Jimmie Johnson PJ bottoms. He couldn't wait to put them on! My SS was Vicki (I don't know her screen name, she didn't put it!) I got a wonderful smelling candle that is burning right now! She also sent toys for Timo and Tuula! Timo loves his tug rope and Tuula has been playing with her mouse all day! Thanks again to our SS and to Rerun who was willing to brave the headaches of organizing this. Merry Christmas everybody!!
-
:santahat; Thank you Wenchie!! I look so forward to opening the Secret Santa gifts every year. Mine sat here for a long time and even though I shook the larger box I could not figure out what it was. Turns out the noise I heard was 3 big bags of M&M's: Cordial Cherry, Mint, and dark chocolate!! I also got a beautiful New York calendar, a Cornell bottle opener/key chain, a sweet Santa ornament, and the coolest black t-shirt with a skull and wings that says "Argyle's EASY STREET, Hot Bikes, Cold Beer. Cortland, NY" - I love it the most!! Thanks so much - the card was hysterical, I read it out loud and we all had a good laugh! Best wishes to you and your family! :waving;
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Thank you Rerun, for pulling this together! :clap;
-

Thank you James!
I received a picture frame which I have plenty pictures of my kids to put into it. I also got a magnifying glass with lite which I desperately need sometimes. The last thing I got was a wind-up flashlight which my last one broke a long time ago but I never replaced like I should have. Living in earthquake country I really needed one. Thank you so much! I love everything.

My SS was Marsh, and she must have researched me very well. My puppy loved the squeaky toys (me not so much LOL). Me and my husband both loved the puppy desk calendar and the tie dyed place mats, and I think everyone enjoyed the rain deer antlers I wore all day today. I can't wait till Jan. 1st so we can start using the calendar!! Thank you Marsha for all the great gifts, and thank you Rerun for spending all the time getting this together. Can't wait for next years SS.

I absolutely loved it! And, I dont think I could have sat there for a month staring at the package! So it arrived the perfect time :)
Thank you so much! The calendar is already hanging up, with imporrtant dates already filled in, and that passionfruit tea is sooo yummy! Ive never had tea like that before, so I had to have my step mom help me! lol It was really good stuff!
It was really lovely seeing ur face! Gorgeous woman you are :) I really enjoyed reading the info book, it makes me want to go there soooo bad! the food sounds amazing, i might even try a few of the recipes on the calendar
Thank you!!!
-
@ gothiclovemonkey
It was totally my pleasure. I am just sorry I left things so late that I had to rush. Hope you liked the handmade straw thingy. And did you use the little hut for the tea? - that is what it is for.
-
I love it all! The straw wallet thing is so gorgeous idk, i think i should only use it special occasions!!! Its beautiful, and amazing someone did that by hand!!!
I still cant get over how cute that lil hat is on the wine!! TOO cute!
Yes, the tea thing worked great, Its cute too. I knew what it was, I have just never used one before, luckily my step mom new how lol very tasty, and the aroma was sooo good.
Rushing is no fun, i felt really bad because the stuff i ordered for like 3 different people still hasnt come in, so i had to run out and buy alternatives for them!
I love IHD! Having you all as friends is really what made Christmas this year amazing! I dont have many offline friends, and Having a place to come to and talk to people, getting to know you all, and especially getting to meet some of you in Vegas this year was a real treat! Im so very thankful for all of you. Im very blessed <3
-
I had to wait and look at my package for almost 2 months.
Thank You so much Chook!
The bracelet is my favorite blue
The candle smells amazing
The handmade cards are so cute
And I love magnets, but my favorite gift was the hand written letter and the pics. I will cherish them forever!

I opened my SS gift late yesterday and I found sweet surprises! :) My SS was Devlinswife and, as you may or may not know, she has been off the site for a while due to illness and such. The fact that she found the time and strength to send me anything speaks volumes about her character. Thank you so much, Devlinswife! :beer1;
I received a box of yummy chocolates, a cool deck of cards, some cheesecake/cheeseball mix and the most wonderful handwritten letter explaining all the gifts! The letter was my favorite gift! So sweet!
Thanks again, Devlinswife! I hope you had a peaceful Christmas and I hope you have an exciting New Year!! :waving;
I'm still waiting to hear from the member I sent a gift to! I hope she liked it!!
-
My pleasure. It is so fun reading what you all received. Fun!
:santahat;
-
Hubby's secret santa did not receive her gift for Christmas. I mailed it early Nov. 10 but I think somebody must be swimming across the Atlantic with it!! :rofl; I have been in contact with the member and she says it is something to look forward to in the new year. I also mailed a gift to new Zealand on Oct 21 and that hasn't arrived yet!! Could we please, please ,please have our names earlier next year so that if it has to go international we can mail earlier. I mailed a gift to the same person a couple of years ago and it arrived in February!!
I love reading and seeing what everybody got!!
-
The whole time I was opening it I was trying to figure out just who on here is from Michigan. Gwyn saw the return address - from Arizona, you sneaky devil - and thought it must be DD. We were both completely led astray. Nicely done, I just love surprises.
Wait, what?! I was not your Secret Santa! Also, you've mistaken a Buckeye for a Wolverine... bad, bad, bad. :Kit n Stik;
-
But cariad was MY Secret Santa! I'll have to come back and post pics later, but I must say the little hints she left in each gift were the really fun part! I had my first suspicion it was her - due to word use - in the 'pre-opening' letter. The suspicion deepened when Andy opened his gift and I saw the card benefiting 'New City Public Schools' and an affirmation that we'd met in Vegas. The suspicion was confirmed when not one, but two, of her hints indicated she is "the least crafty person in the world". She just said the same thing to jbeany a few days ago in the off-topic forum. I was triumphantly vindicated when I opened the 'post-opening' card and she confirmed her identity!
I got a gorgeous violet parasol, which will come in so handy walking around Phoenix this summer! It will be a mate to my blue and yellow parasol I used all last summer. I got a light switch cover painted in traditional Rangoli designs by one of her handsome sons and a gorgeous little lacquered pill box - both in green and purple! She also sent me beautiful artwork in a tiny silver frame, which promptly went on my keychain and... last but not least, Omanhene Hot Cocoa mix! I've really gone overboard on my potassium and phosphorus this last week so I haven't had it yet, but I intend to have a great big mug of it on my birthday! I can't wait!
Thank you so much, cariad - I really loved my gifts and I had so much fun participating in the Secret Santa. I wish I had been more creative and fun with my own gift... but there's always next year!
-
So far, my person hasn't been on to say if she liked her gifts. I hope its because she's so busy with family and not some other reason!
-
I had my first suspicion it was her - due to word use - in the 'pre-opening' letter.
:rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
Well, aren't you bloody Miss Marple! And I was trying not to sound like myself. D'oh! Story of my life.
The suspicion was confirmed when not one, but two, of her hints indicated she is "the least crafty person in the world". She just said the same thing to jbeany a few days ago in the off-topic forum.
Did I? Double d'oh! I thought I had been careful about that, although I guess I was banking on the notion that no one actually reads anything I write on here. :rofl; I am just so damn un-crafty, I guess I have to mention it a minimum of thrice a week, lest anyone expect anything hand-crafted out of me. The little picture frame was something off Esty where all vendors take a pledge that everything they sell is either handmade or vintage. I learned quite a bit about Alphonse Mucha from being your Secret Santa, and the pictures are repros of his work. I cannot believe that you noticed that the card was from The New City School (where Aidan learned Rangoli). That is taking the observant-ness to a whole new level. All right, that's it. Next year I am picking another member to impersonate, studying their speech-patterns, flying to their hometown, package in hand.... :laugh:
Also, you've mistaken a Buckeye for a Wolverine... bad, bad, bad. :Kit n Stik;
Sorry! All you non-badgers look alike.... ;D
So glad you enjoyed, DD, (and please know that you don't have to actually use the switchplate cover, Aidan will never know. He was just so honored that I asked him to make it for me.)
Hope it's been a merry one for you and yours!

Mine is mum on the gift subject, too, but then they may not know who to thank. Hehehe.

Sorry my friend, but if you dangle a mystery before me I am going to bring all my powers of observation to bear in order to solve it! OH! I forgot to mention Andy's present: a replica ashtray from the Titanic. He opened his gift first and I grilled him as to whether he was hunting up ashtrays during his conversation with anyone in Vegas, and who he talked to about sailing. He wasn't much help in the clue department.
(and please know that you don't have to actually use the switchplate cover, Aidan will never know. He was just so honored that I asked him to make it for me.)
You can tell Aidan for me right now that the switchplate cover will be going up in the craft room of our new house. (I'm your opposite in the crafting respect!) I won't put it up here because I don't want to chance accidentally leaving it behind, but it's definitely going up. I love nothing more than looking about me and seeing things that are one-of-a-kind and besides which, it's beautiful.
-

I was wondering . those of you who sent SS gifts to faraway lands (overseas) How did you send them?
I sent mine United SAtates Poatal Service and it was delivered within 2 weeks.
I had to fikk out cuzstoms paperwork , but it was under 30 dollares to send.\\Just checking for next year.

Hi Katons's Dad...
From Ireland, I sent ours Regular Parcel Post... It does go Airmail, and each item I ever send to the US appears to arrive in about ten days to two weeks... About three weeks to Canada... If you keep the weight of the package or box to under two kilos, the cost is €16.60c (about US 21.50)... Mind you, go so much as a gram over, and the price goes to €34 (about US 44)... There's a Self service scale at our PO, and I bring the boxes and packaging, and the contents with me, and weigh them before wrapping... I always seem to be a few hundred grams under the limit, so I usually bring some small items with me... Little packets of sweets, bars of chocolate, etc., and add them so I get my box as close to the two kilos as possible... This year, our boxes were less than 10 grams under the two kilo weight!... The clerk at the Post Office laughed when he weighed the boxes... He said "Trust you to milk the two kilo limit... You're certainly getting your money's worth!'...
So far, neither Mum's person or mine have come on and said if they liked their gifts... Maybe they didn't!... *Gulp*.....
Love to all....
Darth...

I clearly had no idea what (or whom) I was up against. I am suitably impressed! :bow; I was hoping you'd think it was from MooseMom, but then she went and blabbed that she was sending overseas. So really, this is all MM's fault. :rofl;
(and please know that you don't have to actually use the switchplate cover, Aidan will never know. He was just so honored that I asked him to make it for me.)

This is so sweet! I told Aidan and his response was 'yesss!'. Liot looked at me and said indignantly 'they have a craft room?!' :rofl; :rofl; (With a mother like me, of course they had never heard of such a thing....)
-
My Secret Santa was amazing. She wrapped up the presents so divinely that it was a shame to actually open them!
I was lucky enough to get a gorgeous perfume bottle for my collection, a pink glass candle holder which will sparkle beautifully when the candle is lit AND ... TWINKIES!
Yummy!
I would like to thank DD for posting the package in Arizona ... but were you actually my SS?! I only ask because a) the breakables were cushioned with pages from the Chicago Tribune and even *I* know that Chicago is a long way from Arizona, and b) I know there are some sneaky souls on here who will go out of their way to be mysterious!
;D
Either way, THANK YOU! for my pressies. I loved them. I love SS. And I love Rerun for organising it all this year! And apologies for not being on earlier; we were entertaining all Christmas and out all day Tuesday. It was exhausting!
-
Riki you are welcome!
THANK YOU to Kelly for my secret Santa gifts! My Qtips and cotton balls have a home finally! Plus a big bag of chocolate.... I took to work to share, since Neil was eating a little too much! :)
I'm not sure what her IHD member name? I think it's Kelly who founded "Etta's Gift" but I don't want to assume...
Thanks for organizing Rerun!
Happy Holidays! Love to you ALL!

Katonsdad,
I have send overseas the past few years. I just send it regular mail where ever I send. It does take a bit longer but is a LOT cheaper. Funny thing is it takes longer to get from me to the destination than it does if somebody mails to me!! I usually try to send things that aren't heavy to keep the price down. If what you buy can fit in a large bubble envelope and goes through the mail slot it can go as a regular letter. T shirts are good for that!! I did mail a package to Ireland on Nov, 10 and it hasn't arrived yet and one to NZ on Oct 21 that hasn't arrived. You HAVE to mail early!!!
-
Yes, Del's gift to ME arrived in plenty of time, and I was warned on the bubble envelope not to open it before Christmas. So we just carted that envelope to Massachusetts (about half way BACK to where it came from) so I could open it on Christmas morning. :2thumbsup;
I'm STILL amazed at the wonderful gifts.
I got a lovely thank you by e-mail from the recipient of my gifts, so I know they arrived. :clap;

Ohhhhh.... hmmm. I think if you don't know who your SS is then I will just keep my lips sealed. Might as well stay a secret! Isn't it more fun that way? (Though I am VERY happy I know who mine is!)
If you REALLY insist, I'll tell you, though.

I'm 99.999999% sure I know who it is IF it isn't you! Of course, the newspaper could have been a very clever double bluff ...

I just realised that I forgot to post photos. I shall rectify that immediately ...

I send packages and letters to Finland all year and it never seems to take more than 10 days except after Thanksgiving. Then it usually takes 14 days. I just send USPS.

I hope our two gift reciepients are okay... Neither have posted since Christmas... Maybe they hated their gifts so much, they've gone running to the hills!.... :rofl;
Love to all, and thanks again, RR....

Secret Santa List 2011
Desert Dancer had Poppy
Oooh, Chicago Tribune double bluff?! Clever! (Unless there's a mini-Chicago in Az?!)
Thank YOU, DD!
(And if anyone is interested, a Twinkie is 4 points if you're following the WW diet. This means I can enjoy one a day until they run out!)
-
I heard they weren't making Twinkies anymore.. I'd be hoarding those things, Poppy... *LOL*
-
Gosh, really? Maybe I should hoard them until 21st December? Aren't they like cockroaches (they'll be the only thing left when the end of the world comes?) Blokey will be really disappointed if you're telling the truth; he's desperate to try Chocodiles.
;D
-
I've never heard of Chocodiles... I did a quick search.. Chocodiles will be harder to find, I think... There is a website, http://freshchocodiles.com.. you can order them from there, but I don't know if they ship outside the US. And, I was wrong. They haven't stopped making Twinkies, they just won't be with vanilla filling anymore

As far as I can tell twinkies are alive and well!

:santahat; Moosemom you were an amazing SS!! :cuddle;
My whole family enjoyed opening and reading about the world you live in. You were so thoughtful in the way you put my gift together, I love everything you sent! Thank you so much! I was so busy the week before Christmas that I didn't even think about opening it early, it was opened Christmas morning. The beautiful ornaments will join my other Christmas decorations from around the world and be on display each year! The steak seasoning is about to be tried out on the BBQ as it's a very hot summer day and the almonds...... well they were delicious! I love Almonds! My children asked if you knew that! Thank you again for making my IHD SS so much fun. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and the New Year is filled with love and good health. :-* :-* :-*

I've loved being part of this and have just scanned the last few pages of posts eagerly to see if Pam posted, as I was her SS. While reading I discovered that it seems I was supposed to stay 'secret' - whoops. When I 'researched' Pam, I found lots of similarities between us and ended up writing her a letter as well - hence no more secrets.
Happy New Year to all!!
-
Oh Wattle, I am so glad you enjoyed what I sent, and I really appreciate you taking the time to post a photo. Have a wonderful 2012, and take care of that wonderful new kidney of yours! :cuddle;

My Secret Santa gift came from St. Thomas today!!! Darthvader was my SS! And how she spoilt me!! The box was not such a large box, but the number of things that came out of it. I couldn't even get them packed back into the box!!!
I was so thrilled when I saw that it came from Ireland (Eire). Have to talk about that on Facebook since one of my coworkers is Irish!
I got lots of chocolates (my family will be thrilled) a china mug, eye makeup(which my daughter will take away from me), an address book, a calendar from Ireland, a reindeer ornament, a beautiful little bag. My family haven't seen them yet. I happen to be working today at our Ferry dock (where ferries come from St. Thomas,etc., ) and so picked up the package just where I work. It came in last night, they told me, but I had already left.
Here is the pict.

Glad you liked it, Bajanne...
I'm well known for packing lots of things into small spaces!... It's a good way of ensuring that things don't rattle around and get damaged!... Also, the box was under the two kilo limit, so I had to add choccies, and the heart shaped bath thingys to bring it close!....
I collect elephants, so had to share the addiction with the bag!...
God bless...

I should have added to my previous post - about scanning for Pam's post about my SS - that I DID find Pam's post and was more than gratified!!!!. It is a lovely feeling to know that the package I put in the mail in Oz found its way to Pam's house, sat under her tree and was happily received. Magic!

The reindeer have landed!!!!!.... Postman arrived this morning....
Thank you, Walt (Del's hubby)...
Inside my package were... A lovely grey Newfoundland Tee Shirt... Two packs of a really tasty local candy (VERY strange flavour... I LOVE it... Mum HATES it!)... Oooooh yes, I like that fact... All the more for me!!!!... A very pretty elephant brooch (I collect elephants)... A sparkly gold pen... A bag of Milky Bones doggy treats for the smutt... A pic of the biggest iceberg I've ever seen... And erm, well how can I put this delicately???... A black and diamonte 'foundation garment'... LOL!!!!.... Now as to the type of 'foundation garment'... Erm, well suffice to say, I could use a new Cheese Wire!!!!.... LOL!!!!... Walt, you're wicked!!!!!.... :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;...Mum's still laughing!!!!....
Thanks Walt (and Del who no doubt had to do the shopping!)....
Thanks again, Rerun for the organisation...
Love to all...
Darth...

Oh Darth... I shudder at the thought of what kind of "foundation garment" could be used as a cheese wire... *LOL*

Yes, some people just fill a box, or padded envelope with little things... Some send one item... It's entirely up to yourself... I know that Mum was delighted with your gift....

Yes, the old 'cheese wire' was a surprise to say the least!... :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; ... Mum wants to know when I'm planning to wear it???... I told her I'll wear it when I get dry eyes and need to make them water!... :rofl;

I had to pry the light up angel from my 18 month son's hands, because he is very taken by it, lol... The chocolates are soooo delicious, I guess I can kiss my diet good bye until they are finished lol. I have been good to eat only one a day, but my husband and older son are not being as good. Thanks sooo much again.. The postcards reallly make me want to visit North Carolina some day.. Say hi to Beth for me!!! and Thank her as well for this lovely array of goodies.
Many blessings for the New Year..
Have an amazing 2012!

Hey Cordelia: love your avatar. It made me laugh out loud! Do so agree with it. I wear a 'duck fialysis' tshirt to bed, same sort of humour.
You are all so great posting pics of your SS gifts - makes me keep returning to this thread to see what else has been gifted.
-
A shout out to Angela - just saw your post re SS parcel. Thanks - will definitely let you know of parcel's arrival. Late is even better: more time for anticipation. Just glad to know that all is okay with you. I know I'm repeating myself but hey, this is fun!

I have been remiss..in posting the photo of all the beautiful ties that TyeFly sent me. I can just picture her hunching over her workbench tying all these and mounting them into the boxes. They are so colorful and it was absolutely my favorite gift this year.
-
WOW! Those are awesome.
-
Gorgeous! They are simply beautiful!

So pretty! :)

Wow! That took a lot of work! Beautiful!

Do I sound in a happy Christmas mood? Well, I am, thanks to Angela, my Secret Santa. Your parcel arrived via the mailman yesterday.
Thanks so much. I love the gifts - they are perfect! I will TRY and attach a pic to share with everyone. I especially love the journal - will keep it for something special. I am such a diary keeper and it will come in so handy! And the Christmas mug is gorgeous - in winter, which is July/August over here, I love a big cup of hot chocolate - I know which mug I'll be using from now on. And it will remind of the fun of SS and my IHD friends!
Recipe for yummy hot chocolate - heat LARGE mug of full cream milk in microwave till frothy, add small amount of Milo (do you have Milo in the US?) and generous amount of sugar (wicked) plus scoop of vanilla icecream. Top with a sprinkling of cinnamon.
Mmm, would have one now except it may get to over a hundred here today.
-
Nice picture, Chook! And yes, getting the gifts is lovely fun!
:2thumbsup;

-
What a gorgeous mug! :clap;
