I’ve always been fond of tattoos. Not huge ones but small, stylistic ones that hold some sort of meaning to me. My first tattoo was at the age of 21: a feather because I am ¼ Native American. Didn’t get my 2nd until I was 35 when I started volunteering in greyhound rescue: a greyhound in flight with my dogs ear tattoos underneath (Racing greyhounds have the inside of their ears tattooed as puppies with their registration number and birth info). My next tattoo I got last year: The Pi sign to honor my Dad. He passed away on 4/26/2010 from a rare auto-immune disease. He was an evolutionary psychologist and loved the Pi sign. I thought that was going to be my last one . . . but now I love someone who needs a kidney (whether he wants me in his life or not, I still love him) . . . . I’ve always checked that ‘organ donor’ box on my driver’s license, never though twice about it. But now that tiny, little box means so much more to me. SO . . . on Sunday I’ll be getting a ‘Donate Life’ tattoo. I can’t wait :bandance; ;D

Oooh, that's nice! Mine won't be that detailed, just a simple message to get the point across ;) My greyhound tattoo has opened the door for a lot of conversations with strangers about greyhound adoption. Hoping my new tatt will do the same

My daughters both have green ribbon tattoos. The oldest daughter got a beautiful tattoo after my transplant last year. It is the Irish logo for organ donation --- a dead twig with "forget me not" flowers grafted on the twig to represent new life. I think it is great that you want to do this. And people will notice and ask question. Great opportunity to educate others :2thumbsup;

Be sure to post pics! I'm thinking of getting another tattoo (probably early next year) and will be asking for suggestions nearer the time.
