Title: Need something for your PD tube?
Post by: shay_pcb on January 17, 2007, 09:10:34 PM
I don't know if all the dialysis centers advertise these PD bands, so i figured I'd mention it here. I got 3 of them, and I LOVE them. They are bands that are customly fit to go around your waste and have a little pocket inside to hold your tube. All the info for them is on this webste: http://www.patientspride.com I hope you all like them as much as I do!!

(BTW, I hope this doesn't count as spam or anything. I was just trying to help everyone out bc these things are GREAT!!  ;D )

Thanks, Shannon.  Those look great.  :thumbup;  Did you get the regular one or the summer one?

I got 2 regular ones, one of which I left at the hospital on one of my last trips, and 1 summer one. I like the summer one better. the next time I buy them, that's what I'm going to get.

This really looks great. I'm still pre-D (whew!), and still vacillating on whether I want to do HD or PD when the time comes.  I'm leaning toward PD, but have been thinking that the belts I have seen before this don't look either comfortable or very efficient, so I'm especially glad to see this one.  :thx;

After you put them on, bc they are custom fit, you can't even tell it's there. On the phone, they compared it to underwear! lol After you put them on, you forget all about them!

I didn't mention, and I don'tknow if it's upfront on the site, but Medicare helps pay for them. I didn't have Medicare at the time I ordered them...they are expensive, but worth it!! It takes away the use of all that tape to hold your tube. I had problems with tape from the begining. None of it would stay stuck to me, so I love the bands!!! No tape involved!!

 They seem an excellent idea. Iv'e emailed patient pride to give me a price in £ sterling. You have to make a phone call to give your measurements andI'm wondering if Pacific standard time means I'll have to call them in the middle of the night from the UK.
