I have seen on here where people have used the term crashing... What does that mean in relation to dialysis?
-
Means your blood pressure drops during dialysis to the extent that action needs to be taken before you pass out.
-
Excellent definition, Bruno! :thumbup;
Not pleasant at all.

I guess it's timely that I asked this today... I was feeling great when I left dialysis, drove home cross town, decided to stop for some food, and Passed out in a parkinglot. 2 soldiers saw this and helped me get back up and to my truck where I just sat for about an hour till I felt normal again. This definitely scared the he'll out of me.

No more passing out! Good definition of crashing given. Make sure you know your blood pressure when you leave so you can decide if you need to go straight home.

Gryphon, it happens. It can happen even if you left with a normal bp. If the treatment stripped your fluid level right to the edge, the minute you get and start moving around, you can drop again. Especially in this heat wave most of us are having! If there's a next time, have them bring you some water and something salty, like a beef jerky or crackers. (Broth is ideal, but blecccch....)
