So, I just thought I would share that I have a sense of hope and dare I say faith?... in people and more specifically my neighbors. It seems that no matter where I have lived I have always been next to... well, the strangest people. For instance, I lived in an apartment over a year ago where I thought I would be able to relax after a day at the office and running clients everywhere. (I was a case manager for an outpatient psychiatric facility). One of my clients actually moved in next door to me, would come over, discuss her bowel movements, and what medications she needs...talk about TMI and an invasion of privacy!!!
Currently, I live in a much larger apartment, great for all the PD supplies! ;D However, I do have "karate man" living across the way; he stands in his boxers and punches the air and kicks, and goes up on the roof of the building and practices his moves! It's actually quite entertaining, I promise to posts pics if I catch him doing it again :urcrazy; hehe. In addition we have had quite a few break-ins to cars these last few months, and the police finally cracked down and got those hooligans...seriously, it was like watching the actual show of COPS everyday for a week...the funny part about all these break-ins? We used to live in Chicago and now WE LIVE IN AMISH COUNTRY!! :rofl; I can't really imagine a horse and buggy drive-by...but hey anything is possible...speaking of which...
I do have a normal neighbor who has become quite a good friend over the past few months, and I never expected him to offer to get tested for a kidney donation!! Oh my goodness, it really touched my heart. We were just sitting outside enjoying this lovely humid Indiana weather, and he asked me about my condition. As I explained it to him, he stops me, and says "give me the number for your case manager at IU hospital, I want to get tested." I was in shock. I couldn't believe that a guy I barely know would offer to do this for me...and the more coincidental part is that his mother is also getting tested for her neighbor in Missouri. What a caring family! My friend even said he would be considered for a cross-donor program, in case he is not a match... so cool.
Well, anyway just thought I would share some of the good news and hope it makes some of you guys out there smile a bit...

Sounds promising. Maybe he will be one of those rare people who will not just talk the talk but will walk the walk. Those of us on the list have seen way too much of the talkers! Good luck!

WOW! What an amazing neighbor, and I'm so happy for you! The first thing my neighbor did when they moved in was come onto our property and cut a 6" diameter main branch off our tree without asking. :Kit n Stik;

:rofl; :rofl; :rofl; got some chuckles sis! thank you!
one summer many many years ago, i went to visit my sis in miami beach. i stayed there for a month with her and my 3 yr old. when the day came to go back home, the neighbor man from across the street came over and gave us the pics he had taken of us..sunbathing on her porch..and in our "all-togethers" INSIDE the apt.
he said he thought we'd like them..
she moved right after that.
wonderful neighbor you have, wow what a real sweetheart!

all those crazy neighbors were worth it if it got you to the place you're our now. I too, have moved to a place with the best neighbors in my building. We're like family. The last place I lived we had a woman who when not taking her proper medications, would go on the bonkers side. She threw al her belongings in the river. Coffee pot, forks, cushions, tooth paste...I mean everything. She also stripped naked and leaned over the fence to "part the Red Sea". We called the police to help her and they wouldn't take her for help. Later she set up 21 dustpan & hand lotion shrines in our courtyard. Again everyone called the police and she "wasn't a danger to anyone". 1 am she was in her bra and underware on her porch which has a celing to it, with her umbrella up pacing. Not raining either.WTHeck???.. On the 3rd day she jumped in the river. Rescue boats collected her and thank goodness she was safe and survived. So,..if you have found great neighbors, cherish them! Actually I think there's a lot of them around.Good luck with everything
