I am sorry to hear that you are yet another person affected by this awful disease, but I'm very glad that you have found us and have taken the time to join IHD. We have a lot of people who are in exactly your position and who know all too well what you are going through. Dialysis is not an easy life, but if you can get good dialysis, you can feel better and still enjoy the pleasures of life.

Hello, raidym. Sorry you have this disease, but I do like your attitude. Accentuate the Positive and Eliminate the Negative, and Don't
Mess with Mister In Between.

Welcome, Raidym,
What type of dialysis do you do? It takes a while to get over the initial shock, even when you KNOW that dialysis is coming, so I commend you for your attitude! :2thumbsup;
:welcomesign;
You've found a good place for support and information!

Wow, thank you everyone for the kind welcome messages I'm very touched :thx;. I'm from County Meath in Ireland the country and I'm on haemodialysis for four hours three times a week. I really do try to stay positive. My motto in life is "Laugh or you might just cry". I was actually looking up the renal diet and recipies when I came across IHD and thought now that's what I'm talking about ;D. and thanks again for the kind welcome.xxx I'm not the best on the computer but I promise I'll try and get better and I'll log in regularly and catch up.

Oh yeah, the renal diet. ::) I'm living in Chicago right now (originally from Texas but lived in the UK for 18 years), and it seems that everything served in restaurants involves either cheese, potatoes or some sort of processed meat, a renal patient's nightmare.
OK, when I think of Ireland, I think of potatoes...sorry about the stereotype! So do you find it difficult to avoid potatoes?
I love a good vegetarian curry; all my years in England taught me that. But my goodness, that cuisine is so full of lentils, chickpeas, potatoes and yogurt-based sauces that I often wonder how South Asian renal patients cope.
