Title: It's a boy! Just 15 weeks early!!!!!!!
Post by: thegrammalady on July 14, 2011, 05:54:15 AM: william elliott higgs arrived yesterday 7/13/11, 3:03 pm, 1 pound 13 ounces and 15 weeks early via emergency c-section. so far april and william are doing well. how i'm doing is a whole other story......

My cousin's daughter had a little boy last year 3 months early in May. He weighed 1.8lbs. He is now 14 months old and is a normal size and doing well.

My niece was also born early - 7 weeks to be exact. She was not that small, weighing in at almost 4 lbs. but she was 21 inches long! She was all skinny arms and legs. Now, four and a half years later, you'd never know she was a preemie except for the little scar that she has on her neck from the feeding tube.

my twin sister and i were born 47 years ago, at 7 months gestation. i think she wieghed 2lbs, and i wieghed 3.
my first daughter was 5.5 weeks early and wieghed 8.5lbs!
no one had any issues, other than daughter had low sugar at birth, and mild jaundice. by the 8 week mark all was well.

enjoy them grandbabies!!!

my grandpa made a craddle for me and my sis when we came home from hospital, he said you could have put 6 more babies on the same pillow..now here we are, 48 yrs later, still fighting for the same pillow..(just different house)..

my daughter tells me she intends to name the baby GERTRUDE if its a girl... :urcrazy;
