This is my intro. I am rajeev from india and am 37 years male.
My kidney was disease(IGan) detected when I was working in USA. My creatinine was 2 when it was first tested. Biopsy was done at Kaiser in 2003. So, it was concluded that my kidneys were 70% damaged. So, I was told I have to be ready for dialysis anytime. So, in 2005, my creat shot to 7 and I had other symptoms. I was put on dialysis(2005). Now, I was back in bangalore, india. After 6 months, I had my transplant as my father's kidney matched. Well, it worked for 1 year(until 2006) and now I am back in dialysis. I am waiting for second transplant. I also had few stem cell injections, but no use. Creat is still lingering around 10.

Oooooh, India! I'd love to visit there sometime. Right now I am watching a 6 part documentary called "The Story of India". I've just finished the first part which was about the believed origins of India (from the Indus Valley) and the truly ancient civilizations that thrived there. The most fascinating thing I learned was about the Vedas and how they have been so faithfully passed from Brahmin to Brahmin for centuries, and what makes that so amazing is that from the Vedas, we actually have an idea of what Stone Age people sounded like.
Anyway, enough about that...I'm sorry to hear that your first transplant failed but am hopeful that you will get a second one soon. If you have questions about dialysis, this is a good place to ask. Or you can just come and post about what life is like in India, and that would be interesting, too! Are you still in Bangalore?
Are you a cricket fan?

Good luck, Rajeev and welcome.

My father was from Southern India and move to USA to become a doctor. Currently I have no idea where he is now, just somewhere in India...

Hi Rajeev, and welcome to IHD. My friends from India, Navdeep, Param, Sureena, Amrita, and Dayven were just here visiting from California where they now live. Param was telling me about the book "A Road To Nowhere" that I'm going to have to read.
Can you legally buy a kidney in India?
Please post often.
