Title: Frequently Asked Questions about Nocturnal Home Hemodialysis
Post by: jester on January 15, 2007, 09:40:52 AM
The following FAQs were prepared by the staff of the Nocturnal Home Hemodialysis (NHHD) program in Toronto.
Patients have been involved in the Toronto program since 1994. Interest has been expressed by nephrologists from as far away as Australia, where a pilot program is scheduled to begin shortly.

In reply to your question here   http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=2368.0;topicseen

Yes you do need a special machine for NHHD.  The Fresenius 2008k Home machine has special nocturnal features as well as a few other machines on the market.

Quote taken from the website

"Conventional hemodialysis is like riding a Volkswagen on a dirt road, while Nocturnal Hemodialysis is like riding a Rolls on a freshly paved surface."

I'll agree with that, nocturnal is that much of an improvement

(not that I have driven either car  ;) )
