Title: Moving to Arizona (Phoenix area) looking for a good center
Post by: onestronglittlelady on June 10, 2011, 04:45:42 AM
If all goes well my husband and I will be moving to Arizona, around the Phoenix area by October. My husband was accepted to the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. Any opinions on the dialysis centers in the area is greatly appreciated.

If all goes well we will both have transplants by then, but being the family planner I am working on plan B.  I have been called to the transplant center 2x now, but after evaluation the each kidney was not good enough for transplant. Also the donor that was lined up for my husband may have backed out.

I love this site, I may not comment much, but reading the posts here helps my sanity!

I love my center: Camelback Dialysis in Scottsdale. It's a small DaVita clinic - only six chairs - and they primarily train and support home patients. They are also a self-care unit if that's what you want to do (or you can just sit back and let them do it all). The staff is great and their stats are phenomenal.

You're coming from Wisconsin, aren't you? Ever spent a summer in Phoenix?  ;D

Thank you for the information on your center. We have so much to learn before we get there. It does look like there are many centers in the Phoenix area. Hopefully if we don't have our kidneys in by then, we will pick a good center the first time.
