I just watched Glee - I love that show. Anyone else in IHDland hooked on Glee?
-
Gleek here...
-
I've never watched the program but I know it's a hit! My sister was a middle school teacher to the boy in the wheelchair?....
-
*ssshhh*
(yes)
There goes my cool reputation.
;D
(my favourite character is Brittany because I'm a bit like her, sometimes.)

LOVE GLEE!!! My daughhter's theater teacher worked with Matthew Morrison on Broadway. They were both Chuck in Footloose. ( my daughter's teacher, Billy, was the original and Matthew took over for him) The theater school is always getting signed posters and memorabilia from Glee. Her teacher is trying to get him to come out to Pittsburgh for a fundraising appearance.

Love it! yes,Yes, YES. YES!!!!!

Oh YES! I knew my fellow IHDers would be Gleeks like me! I love the show. Wow - you all have connections! I used to teach theater and direct the plays - gosh I miss those crazy, talented, emotional teens!
So - was I the only one crying last night? Come with me and we'll be in a world or pure imagination......
-
It was a very emotional show. Had the tissues at hand and needed them. :'(

Should I now steer clear of this thread and withhold my Gleekiness? We're a whole week behind you lot across the pond and I fear you're going to tell me Bad Stuff. I already know the title of last night's programme (thanks to FB) but NOT what it alludes to.
We're always behind you. It used to get really annoying being a whole five days behind you with LOST! As UKians we have to put our fingers in our ears quite a lot so as not to 'hear' spoilers. I Googled Desperate Housewives + dialysis the other week and now know WHO kills herself despite that ep not having been shown here yet ...
Okay, rant over ... ;D
*sigh*

yes love Glee! Watch the first season on Netflix!!! I love how they redid lady gaga's Pokerface song as a ballad.
Use to be a choir and theater kid myself back in the day!!

Oh Poppy, stay! We Gleeks must stay together! I won't give it away. Just saying it was a good one!
-
We have already bought one of the songs from this last episode from iTunes. :2thumbsup;
And Poppy, we haven't given anything away....just keep the tissues handy. :flower;

Phew! I scrolled down this thread VERY slowly just in case!
I have a confession to make though ... although I like some of the songs, I tend to watch Glee more for the storylines than the music. I've never been very good with musicals (I don't GET them) but the stoylines in Glee are brilliant. I do often fast-forward through the songs. Does this make me a bad person?
;D
(I actually think that shows such as Glee make me want to have gone to an American school ... )
-
Honestly Poppy, even with my musical theater background, I sometimes get a little bored with the songs. It's the characters and the high school energy and angst that I'm hooked on!
But don't fast forward through Willy Wonka, please....
-
Oh, I actually really love Willy Wonka. And Chitti Chitti Bang Bang. And Mary Poppins. I happily sing along to the songs in them (but only on my own.) Hmmm, maybe I subconsciously really love musicals but have spent my life telling myself I don't ... (but I still don't GET them; I have to separate the songs from the storyline.)
The problem with the tracks they use in Glee is that for the most part they're not really songs I would listen to ... they don't tend to exist on my iPod.
The high school angst is great isn't it? You spend so much of your adulthood thinking how wonderful it would be to be a teenager again (well, I do, sometimes) and then something like Glee comes along and reminds you of how much teenagehood could be a struggle and its best left in the past!
;D
