Title: A word of advice to all PD patients...
Post by: HouseOfDialysis on May 14, 2011, 05:54:53 PM
Never under any circumstances ever hook up for dialysis, when you just stuffed yourself silly with an insane amount of food...

Never again, I say... Never again...

*ugh*

Feeling so full that you think you are gonna explode, also occasionally a little heartburn but that mostly occurs when i lay down to go to sleep.

I know, I know.  I fill with a 2800ml volume and completely understand the so full your going to explode feeling especially when it's near drain time.  What's worse is if your feeling hungry during that time.

I only have problems with a full stomach when I fill in the Extraneal for the night. If I just had supper, my stomach starts cramping so bad. When I stop the flow the pain stops immediately and comes back as soon as I start it again. So it takes quite a while to get the 1500 ml into me. And it feels so great when it's done and the pain stops for good ...

Been there done that. :rofl;  We used to have the TV at the end of the bed until I had trouble seeing over my huge hernia belly between drains.  I do 3000 fills and sometimes draw off 500-800 so that is almost 4000.
