I think it would be novel, not just a novelty, to be a dialysis technician that has been through it and understands. I would trust that person more than someone who doesn't grasp the full weight of kidney failure.
I'm going to consult with my Clinic Staff about training and what they suggest, if they think the move is correct for a married father of one.
This should be an interesting day on Thursday.

My Nxstage trainer is a young mother of 2 who also uses Nxstage herself. (lupus). She started out working in a clinic, but came down w/kidney failure ( is this catchy?). Sure was nice to have someone who really knows all the angst of dialysis.

Are you acting on this? I've often thought it might be a great job for those of us who have been there, done that!

in my dreams if i ever became a D technician, first patients would be some D nurses who did such a fantastic job with my treatment :sarcasm;

okay so I am ONLY a caregiver BUT :sir ken; I have seriously considered going to the crap house I mean center that my husband went to and sitting in the waiting room and talking to other caregivers about what they DO NOT have to put up with from the doctors and other staff at the center......
