Title: Lymphatic fluid?
Post by: -Lady Noir- on April 28, 2011, 04:38:12 PM
Okay, as far as i know, after the transplant there is a chance of lymphatic fluid build up round the kidney.. in Mikes case this is probably why his creatinine rose so fast. Waiting for biopsy results now.

What is the deal with this lymphatic fluid? Does it need to be drained? or dependant on where the fluid is?

Would fluid build up show on a biopsy?  I just went through this scare myself.  I was told that the fluid removal could involve surgery to insert drainage tubes or it could sometimes be done with needle aspiration depending on where the fluid is.  My ultrasound was clear of any fluid or lymphocytes (for now).  I hope this all turns out on a positive note for Mike :pray;

Thanks.

I forgot to mention this lymphatic fluid was picked up through an ultrasound. Apparently it's 5cm.
