A dialysis patient had quite a scare before getting treatment on Tuesday when she drove straight into the medical facility.

Annette Taylor, 75, of Northford, accidentally drove her car through the glass front doors of Liberty Dialysis on Washington Avenue in North Haven, officials said. She meant to step on the brake rather than the accelerator, officials said.

Patients were six to eight feet away from where the car stopped, police said. Taylor was not hurt and her car was towed, officials said.

She was charged with reckless driving and is due in court on June 9.

This is the fourth time in less than two weeks that a car has smashed into a North Haven.

Other crashes happened at CVS and the Athena Diner, and a business on State Street.
