My original donor is flying in in a few days for us to go get a blood draw and check if I am going to need a nephrectomy. For some bizarre reason, he decided to invite others along so my parents and brother will be here. This is a tad annoying, but not why I am on here feeling emotionally drained.
My uncle who lives in town had a stroke last week. Luckily, he was at home with his wife and they live within steps of a hospital. So everything that could be done was done as quickly as possible.
He is in a medically induced coma right now. I had my kids make him cards and we drove out there to see his wife (my aunt who adores children) yesterday and she told us there were many positive signs - that he was able to open one eye and wiggle his toes when asked. Today, those signs have all evaporated. I am sad and scared for my aunt and their daughter. The doctors cannot find the source of the bleeding on his brain.
Please keep a good thought for him. He has literally hundreds of friends - he has always had a huge heart, and is generous beyond belief - people just love him I am indifferent to most of my relatives, but Jeff is a special person and I continue to hope that he will somehow miraculously recover and go on to live many more happy, productive years.

Strokes can happen to any of us and that is scary. I too hope your Uncle pulls through for more quality years.

Cariad, I'm so very sorry. :cuddle;
I hope that even though your uncle's positive signs are gone, it is just a temporary setback. I'll be thinking about you, your uncle, and your aunt.
I hope you can emotionally brace yourself for the onslaught of family. :cuddle;
