Title: North Carolina tornados
Post by: Pam on April 18, 2011, 03:49:36 PM
I  had the honor of being Secret Santa to Paris, so I know that she lives in the middle of those devastating tornado's. Has any one heard from her? I am praying they are OK.

I think Aloha Beth had her apartment missed by a tornade less than a block or two away.

Sorry I missed this post Pam.   Thanks for asking.  Haven't these storms across the country been horrifying?    Ours went through town right behind Beth's apartment building. She lives in a 102 yr old building -- that may be why her building did so good!  The whole family had been downtown for lunch and our outing ended quickly when everything became still and dark as night.   We got home in minutes and the heavens opened and the winds blew as soon as I got inside.   Four children under age 5, were killed about a 1/2 from my house.  They were all hiding in the bathroom and a tree fell on top of them.  It was a frightening day.  There are still huge trees laying around and countless homes with blue tarps covering them.  It will take awhile to get Raleigh back to the way it was.

But, we can't complain.  Tuscalousa and Joplin's damage is beyond anything I have ever seen.  And now Maine had a tornado.   I am hoping that the hurricane season is nothing like the tornado season!
