I agree that is not fun....I just had one last month, had 3 stents put in.  They only sent copies (photos) of my before and after.  Amazing to see the difference.  Hope your doing well now, I start cardiac rehab this week....oh well, I need the exercise!

I've been to the cath lab 11 times in the last 15 years.

The earliest ones were tough. The procedure wasn't all that advanced, so healing was a little harder. The clamp they used before  taking out the sheath was miserable, and the five pound weight on your groin for 8 hours was not pleasant.

My last one was last fall, and it was much easier. Procedures have improved, they can use collagen plugs sometimes and eliminate the weight, and even if they use a weight, it's only for about five hours now, and you can sit up.

In all case, the drugs they give you are first class and worth the visit! And I always have fun watching the wire on the fluoroscope and asking questions.

Hope you don't have to do it again.

Yes, procedures certainly have improved a lot. Love not having to have that sand bag on my thigh. I wish my cardio lady had sent me pics of the before and after. Would have been interesting to see.

I did my first rehab session today.....it was fine but made me tired when I got home I just sat all afternoon.  Now, I'm older, overweight and out of shape so this will be very good for me.  They start you out real easy.  I agree the procedure has changed a lot and much easier......I just hate using that bedpan!  ::)

Starting 4th week of rehab and am 20 min. on the treadmill at 1.9 mph. and 20 min on another machine and doing OK.  My thighs still get sore but not as bad.  I don't mind doing it at all and am planning on doing the whole 12 wks. as Medicare is paying for this and I really need the exercise.  I will do the walking this summer as our condo has a walking trail but I need to see what the Y costs for the winter months or some of these smaller gyms around, I don't think the Y has that plan but I am going to ask!
