Title: Kidney Health Collection Library Book Launch - London, Ontario
Post by: virrat on March 22, 2011, 11:11:01 AM
Hi All - Mrs. Virrat here (aka Chris' wife Sandra) :canadaflag;

On Tuesday, March 29, 7-9pm we're celebrating Kidney Month with the official launch of the new Kidney Health Collection (http://tinyurl.com/5rdxtgz) at the central branch of the London Public Library.
:bandance;  :yahoo;

The books were purchased with funds I donated to the Library in memory of Chris. We're going to keep expanding the collection in years to come. The staff - many of whom are friends and library school colleagues - have been so supportive and excited about this project!
:cuddle;

The event celebration will feature talks by Rizwana Ramzanali, kidney & pancreas transplant recipient and Fund Development Officer for The Kidney Foundation’s Southwestern Ontario Chapter; Paul Toplack, Social Worker at the London Health Sciences Centre; and Dr. William Clark, Professor of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. They will talk about programs, services and resources available to people needing information on kidney health.

Beautiful handmade quilts created by organ donor & recipient families and co-ordinated by the London Transplant Gift of Life Association will also be on exhibit at the library from Monday, March 28 through Wednesday, March 30.

Hope to see you there - it's on FB: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=160495804006103 (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=160495804006103)

Spread the word to friends & colleagues!  :secret;

Cheers,
Sandra (aka Mrs. Virrat)
