Title: Crap, crap, crap - Peritonitis!!!!!

It came on VERY quickly yesterday.  I've had peritonitis before - 2 years ago - but nothing like this.  The pain is higher and much worse.  I've been on antibiotics since yesterday at 5:30 and my bag is still completely cloudy.  Oh darn it!  Don't know what it's from yet, but I started the new Liberty machine three nights before I got sick - I probably did something wrong.....  I hate pain!!!!!!

Mum's had peretonitis three times... Average fo ten days in hospital each time.... Hope it's sorted very quickly...

My first peritonitis was a bad one.  I had developed a hernia which became infected and spilled into my dialysate.  I hate to say it, but if the antibiotics aren't working, that catheter needs to come out (mine did).  I hope you are well soon.  Sending good thoughts your way.

Thanks for your replies!  It means SOOOOO much to know I'm not alone!   I'm not in the hospital, my husband and son are marvelous and are taking care of me.  I've been in bed mostly, but am actually on the couch right now.  I don't remember this much pain, cramping and vomitting the last time.

I'm so ready for a transplant!!!!!

pelejora - we were posting at the same time.  The most recent bag was a little better, so lets hope the antibiotics are working!!!!!

I have a cousin who was on PD for a time, and he got peritonitis...ended up in the ER out of his mind with fever.  It makes for a funny story today, but I'm sure it wasn't so humourous back then.  He had a living donor transplant and doesn't have to worry about that sort of stuff anymore...maybe soon you won't have to, either. :cuddle;

It is absolutely sh*t when you get this but they will sort it out, if one antibiotic don't do the trick another will. My husband had excruciating pain when he had his so I feel for you. Get well soon.
