:2thumbsup; Nice story.
We have a man in our town who sleeps on the streets. His name is Robert. One day, about 10 years ago, I was going into the market and we made eye contact. It was a very foggy night so I said, "Nice weather, huh?" and he said, "It reminds me of London." We have been friends ever since. He's growing a beard now, seems to be moving more slowly, I guess he's about 70 years old. I know he feels he is where it suits him, but I don't know why. Thanks for sharing Paddy's story. I hope Robert stays around for a long time too.

Robert grew up in a house near mine. When his parents died he had to move. He is obviously educated, served in the army. He says his family is full of alcoholics and gamblers, so he never touched the stuff. Whenever I see him he says "You look like a teenager" lol, what a line, but it makes me smile. I told him about Jenna when she started dialysis, and he always asks about her. I see him sleeping in a folding chair during the day. He said it's too dangerous to sleep at night, you can get robbed or beaten by homeless people with drug problems. He says he needs surgery but is afraid to go to the VA Hospital because he doesn't believe they will try to save him. I gave him my phone number and if he ever feels like he wants to go, I will take him. It's pouring rain here now, and I wonder where he goes.
