Title: Heal Healing Fix-Up Re-Constitute
Post by: Ellen on January 03, 2007, 11:11:45 AM
I saw a plaque when I dropped my brother off yesterday... at his place...

It says.... Heal the World

(really says Tikkun Olam, which means put the splinters of the world back together)

AND then it says....

You are not obligated to FINISH the job
but while the job is on-going, you are
obligated to contribute to the job.

At least that's my best translation... pretty close.  I thot it was a useful way to think
about everything for me.  Maybe you can use it too.

Still going forth

Ellen

Tikkun olam (תיקון עולם) is a Hebrew phrase which translates to "repairing the world."

TAMARA has got it right   ..... She even writes in Hebrew.... WOW.... I've never used
Hebrew "fonts".  Looks good.  My Hebrew is so bad that I wouldn't attempt it.

Sidebar:  Tamara, do you know what I mean by the little tags taggin on
some letters and not others?  Not the vowel markings.  Some texts have the
taggin on certain letters  and some don't.  Can you tell me any stories or purposes
or uses of the TAGGIN   ?

Ellen, who cannot finish the job but feels compelled to contribute.
 :D ??? :D
