Im a wife/caregiver/carepartner to my hubby who is on dialysis as well.  Been almost 2 years now and just this last january, we brought Dialysis home.  It has been something we needed to do as it gives us more time together and it is easier on him.  Dont know if that's anything you'll want to look into, but it's a thought.  This Dialysis/kidney failure is a hard thing to go through for sure.  How long has she been on D?  It may be that she's stilll adjusting?  Please dig in here and read and head over to the caregivers section as well.  Having us all will give you comfort knowing your not alone for one, and the info here is the most valuable information you can find.  Bless you for carring so much, and best wishes for comfort and strength, and wellness..

Hi, Justin.

I want to echo what Boswife said. I have been a caregiver for my husband on dialysis. We did it at home, too. It was much easier on him and kept him in very good health.

Thinking of you and your wife. You will not be alone here.

Hi Justin and welcome to IHD!   :welcomesign;  It IS hard to watch someone you love go through this and I totally understand wishing you could take it all away.  I am caregiver to my husband who has been on D since 2007.  He has been through hemo in-center, PD for 2 years, back to the hemo in-center and for almost a year now, we have been doing home hemo with the NxStage system. It's much easier on him than the hemo in-center.

You've landed in a great place with all kinds of wonderful people who share this life with you.  I'm truly looking forward to seeing you on the boards.

:welcomesign; Justin!  My Blokey (husband) is the one on dialysis so I know how you feel about having to watch the person you love live with ESRD.

Howdy Justin and welcome to IHD from the Bluegrass State!

My husband just started dialysis at the local center in December of 2010 and we have had some bad times already, but they are slowly but surely getting better.   Just hang in there and be as supportive as you can or willing.  Not everyday will be bad, nor will everyday be good, most will be in the middle.

Give your wife a huge hug  from me and tell her chin up (Charlotte's Web).
