Hello Everyone,
My name is Jim and I am 60 Yrs. old. Found this board a few days ago and decided it would be a great place to be a part of. I have been on Dialysis for just over one year now, I stared to show signs of kidney failure about eight or nine years ago, they discovered it when I went in for an Angiogram, My function stayed up around 20 to 25 percent until 2009 then it started to drop. in Aug. 2009 the company that I worked for for 20 Yrs. informed 160 of us that our jobs were being "ELIMINATED" I think the stress was to much because in Dec. that year just before the end date my function dropped to 12% and I went on Dialysis. But all has worked out fairly well I was able to get disability and of course Medicare. But it is still a little tough to live on half of what you are used to. At this time Dialysis is not going too bad I still have bouts of getting sick afterward but as I get my fluids more under control that is getting better. I have read many of the posts on the site and have gained a lot of information about our disease and treatment from you all. I look forward to sharing with you all and getting to know you.
Jim

Welcome Jim :welcomesign; Your right, you have found a great place to be. Hubby is the one on dialysis here, but i feel pretty much his 'partner' in it all. We have just 'brought it home' now for a couple weeks and doing great. He too has only been on D for close to 2 years now. Not too bad, but wish it could have held off even longer ;)

That's sad. Things turned on him fast. May he RIP and I hope his family has found some comfort in reading some of his posts on IHD.
