Title: Narble From Kentucky
Post by: karrye on January 26, 2011, 10:59:19 AM
Hello everyone!

As per say on the rules, I am introducing me and my family.  We are a small family of 3: My husband Lee, Me (karrye) and our daughter Leah.  We live in the crux of 3 mountains in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains.  Our home is the last home in a long hollow with no other neighbors but my mother-in-law and her bf that live next door.

My husband was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure the last of November 2010 and started dialysis 6 weeks ago from today (1/26/2011).

I am a gal! :)  I am 46, my husband is 43 and our daughter is 16 going on 30.  She is a typical teenager.  My husband is/was manager of an off shoot medical transportation organization.  Whether he returns to work, we both don't know.

Anything else, just ask.

It sounds like you live in such a lovely place!  Thank you for joining us.  I'm sorry to hear that your husband is having to dialyze.  How is he doing?  How are all of you coping with such a drastic change in your lives?  If you or anyone in your family have any questions or just need to vent a bit, that is what we are here for.  There are plenty of people here with all kinds of experiences.

Does your husband dialyze at home or in a clinic.  If he goes to a clinic, is there one fairly close by?  It sounds like you may live a ways from "civilization"! :rofl;

Good luck to you and know we are here to support you!

My husband is living on the River of Denial I do think and is not doing well.  TYVM for inquiring.  We are not dealing as much as coping with this huge change in our lifestyle.  Well I made a post in another column, so that should answer alot of questions! lol

He goes to our local clinic which is about 7 miles away and not hard to drive to as long as the weather is nice, but we are having tons of snow this winter and it has been very bad going back and forth.

Yes, I love where we live and can watch elk, deer, rabbits, squirrels, grouse, and tons of wildlife from my back door every day. :)
