Title: George Washington Slept Here
Post by: Bajanne on December 29, 2006, 11:04:37 PM
Did you guys know that the only country which George Washington ever visited was Barbados?  He visited Barbados in 1751 - he had a brother Lawrence living here.
Well the house has been well preserved and they have tours there now.  Actually, one of my sisters is a volunteer tour guide.  I took a picture of a plaque given by President Clinton and presented by Hillary Clinton.  I will also take a picture of the house to let you guys see.
If George could do it, what about you?

Yes, Sluff, I am.  This evening we are having the big celebration of my father's life.  If he was alive he would have been 100 years old yesterday!  He died just before he was 90, ten years ago.  But he was such a larger than life person, we had to do something in his memory.

Here is a picture of the plaque given by President Clinton.  I was not able to get back there to take a picture of the house, but if you look carefully at the picture you can see some of it in the background.
