Five flood victims airlifted to hospital

From: AAP January 12, 2011 4:34PM

HELICOPTERS have helped evacuate five Queensland flood victims to hospitals in Brisbane.

RACQ CareFlight helicopters today airlifted two men with renal failure from Laidley, in the Lockyer Valley, to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The men, one aged in his 80s and the other in his early 50s, both require ongoing dialysis.
Both are in a stable condition.

A second helicopter airlifted three people - an elderly woman and a mother and her son - from an evacuation centre at Anstead, in Brisbane's outer west, to hospital in Brisbane.

The toddler and the elderly woman both needed medical attention and were taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
