Title: Infiltration

Always a bad sign when the dialysis techs yells out to the head nurse, "Carmen, I've done it again!" as he has cannulized you and you yell out in pain as a hematoma starts to develop after an infiltration.

I did it to myself. I'm left handed and my fistula is in my upper left arm. I reached for the computer screen/tv unit with, or course, my left hand. Had to have it taped down till my brain remembered. My tech knew right away and grabbed the site and saved me from a giant bleed. Took a liong time to heal.

Last month, I started buttonhole and it's already running smooth, next week I start to try doing it myself. Makes me a little queasy. The good part is the cannula is not sharp, I can move my arm somewhat.

Hope you heal quick
