This is my first post here on IHD. While I have known for a while that Dialysis was in my future, I found out yesterday that it is now in my immediate future. I am in the process of making the determination as to what type of dialysis i want to have done. In starting my investigation I was told about this web page that is by patients for patients. Right now I don't have much to say but I want to thank everyone that has posted for any information that I will find out from this page. I know I have a lot to learn and will also experience even more.

I'm glad we're so famous!! :clap;
I think you'll find so much information around here that you will find it much easier to review your choices and make some decisions. Anything we can do to help, you just ask.
I'm so glad you joined.

Hi Dave, I'm so glad you found us, but sorry you needed to! But, yes this site tells the truth and you can vent to people who understand. On the bright side we all have learned to live with it. Doesn't mean we like it but we live with it and do well. I would look into Peritoneal Dialysis first it doesn't have needles and you do it at home and it is easier on you. You can always do hemo later and then look into transplants. Mine lasted 17 years. Read more on this site.
