Hi folks, my name is Mike and I am 39 years old. I have been on hemo dialysis for almost 2 years now. The doctors are not sure what caused my only kidney to fail. All I know about dialysis is.......
I HATE IT!
I HATE IT!
I HATE IT!
I Hate DUHVITA(I dialyze there)
I Hate that we cant have any food or drink in my clinic(ridiculous!..The morons have an ant problem they cant get rid of)
I Hate that when I tell my doctor "my treatment is killing me" and it does not register..If he could, he would say:
JUST SHUT UP AND SIT IN THE CHAIR AND MAKE US AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE!
I Hate being sick after a Hemo treatment
I Hate being called "UNCOMPLIENT" if I get too sick and have to cut the treatment short
I Hate having to explain this to my parents, who live in MA, I live in NC..they even refuse to go to a clinic to understand dialysis
I Hate what this has done to my poor wife
I Hate that I feel that my life is destroyed(It really isnt...just venting!!)
I had a stint where I tried PD, but the fluid would not come off and I developed congestive heart failure.
Stack this on top of Guillian Barre,Diabetes, and nueoprathy and its been a pretty unreal year!
Its great to find a site where the people have the same problems as me! I'll tell you, some days I just don't know!!!
I feel like just quitting this, as I don't see how I can do this for the rest of my life.
Luckily I have a loving wife that means the world to me and keeps me going!!!!!
I still work full time as a software engineer(I don't know how somtimes!) and dialyze on T/T/S. This six day schedule is hell and is getting the better of me, I am trying to move toward Home Hemo in early 2007.
Thanks for listening to the rant!

Welcome Zekewolfy --we have two things in common---------I have a 5 yr old grandson named "Zeke" (Ezekiel) and I live in NC. Software engineer -- are you in the RTP area??? Nice to meet you.

A great big :welcomesign; zeke
Nice post.
There is not a soul here that does not know or understand what your going through.
Patients know, caretakers understand.
You found the best place on the Internet to speak out about exactly how you feel.
Your gonna love it here.
I'm a caretaker, husband on dialysis. I thought dialysis was going to make my husband feel as good as new, but it's, it's own kind of Hell on Earth.
Your among friends so stay & keep posting & rant all you like.

I love how you call it Duh-Vita like I do, and if you become a "Premium Member" just $5 a month (your money helps pay for the site and keeps it online). If you do you will have access to even more of IHD and also access to some videos from Duhvitas Annual Convention. Believe me, you won't BELIEVE your eyes.
Again welcome to the site and since you are interested in home dialysis, be sure to check our sister-site http://www.ilovenxstage.com
