In the UK we have a special collection for them once a week , they are taken to the hospital incinerator !

We have no special requirements at all. Our center told us just to double-bag the tubing and put it in with the regular trash; our city has no requirement that we even use red 'biohazard' bags. The solution we just dump down the drain or use to water our shrubbery.
