Title: Traveling in December
Post by: Des on November 17, 2010, 02:14:04 AM
Will I have a problem with my cysts in my kidneys if I fly? Will they burst from the pressure?

Oh and we are travelling to a small coastal town Jeffreys bay - THEY HAVE A FRESENIUS UNIT!!!!!!!!
That was a very nice suprise to find that unit. We are visiting family. Can't wait!!  :yahoo;

hey there, I have PKD and have been flying since I was 6 months old :-)  Never once have I ever had an issue.

 I know that once when my mother was still in the Canadian Forces she had an opportunity to take the back seat in a F-16 trainer and her Neph said that if she was to pull more then 2-G then she would run the risk of a cyst rupturing.

You should be fine, have a great trip!!  :flower;

We will be driving down to Jeffrey's bay. We will sleep over halfway at a small Karoo town called Colesberg.

Leaving on the 23Dec. In Jeffrey's the 24Dec. 15h00 dialysis.

The Jeffrey's unit has booked my dates. She was very helpfull to accomodate my time needs. I will keep you posted.
