On July 7th I went to the dialysis clinic for a blood draw and the PD dialysis nurse was checking several other things. She checked if I had swelling (water retention) in my ankles and she squeezed my one ankle so hard it actually hurt. I said Ouch when she was squeezing, and she just said "I was just checking if it was swollen". I told her that most people don't squeeze so hard it hurts.
Well the next day I was limping and two day later I went to the doctor and he said that it was squeezed so hard it bruised the bone. I limped around for three week and finally it did start getting better. But it still has a bruised mark around my ankle to this day. I went to have it checked if there were any blood clots and there wasn't, everything was fine. But to this day if I bump it, it still hurts. The PD nurse really did a number on it.
I think I should have sued the clinic for pain and suffering, or I could just take Katkatz’s stick to the PD nurse. :Kit n Stik;
So don't let anyone squeeze you ankle till they bruise the bone!

Here's my idea. The dialysis center that I go to has a formal complaint process. You might want to check into that first before considering litigation. I'm sorry that you were physically hurt by someone who is supposed to be helping you. VERA

some people don't realize how rough they are being. The team leader in my unit can be very rough. I was kind of happy when she took over the job when the old team leader left. She doesn't realize how rough she is, and it comes from growing up on a farm, you had to be rough. Now that she's the team leader, she does more administrative stuff and doesn't have as many nursing duties.

galvo and stoday,
You guys make me laugh! A good neck squeezing would do just fine.
And the PD nurse is married and her husband just had a heart attack I wonder if it was from rough treatment (not that a heart attack is funny) but.... :rofl;
