Title: Lab results
Post by: ChickenLittle56 on October 19, 2010, 07:31:10 AM
I requested my lab results for this months labs. I am trying to find a website(s) where I can go line by line on my labs and get information on that test. From there I would be able find out what it does to my body and what I can do to either increase or lower that value so can be, if not normal, close to it. I had seen on years ago but forgotten the address.

I run a renal support group here in SoCal, and I have a handout called Medical Tests Made Easy.  If you send me an IM on IHD and include your email, I will be happy to send it to you.  I don't think I can attach documents on IHD.

Have a look at this, especially the "Results". If you do the demo you'll find pages of typical lab results and a description of typical values and the reason for including them.

Thank you Galvo for the website. It contained the information I needed, now I can ask the neph. about any tests that are out of the norm.

It's been mentioned before, but a good online resource for finding out about lab results is http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/index.html
