Title: Speak up!
Post by: Constantcrave40 on October 06, 2010, 08:29:13 PM
In my unit im one of the younger, and when I get treated or talked to without respect I speak up and tell them how I feel! Unfortunatly the olfr patients and others I s3 and they tell me they are afraid to say how they feel! That why bother they dont listen. Well I know they say us patients can voice our cmcerns and yeah the head nurse or social wrker listen but.. Make u feel you are just a complainer and havin a bad day,and treat u like a child. They stick right by ea other and cover their ass m matter what. God forbid a patient be u7et at what a tech did or have a opinion m how they run the place! They put us m a I am greatful but stop treating patients like we are robots. They get so used to what they do that they forget we go through enough and dmt need to be afraid to say how we feel. I do its my life!

Oh is that a bad thing? I just have tried to talk to friends about the things that I go through at dialysis,or see or hear.and they listen but dmt really get it. And I needed to feel I could get an ear that understands.and be there to help anyone to!

Sometimes I feel like I am the only one speaking up in my unit.  It is my life and I WILL have a say in my care.

Some of the browsers don't show the emoticons.  That may be the problem.

Thats right. U dont have to be rude but sometimes when u feel u tell them something and they ignore it or act like its not important then u have to be alittle persistant. Like when ive told my nurse and doc I was feeling poorly the nite before, and the symtoms, the nurse says hmm? And walks away. Or doc says oh I see.and nothing just looks at my file and walks away to. Happens alot! This is our mly life and yes the techs help and doc. But we deserve answers or at least the effort to see why the symptoms are happening.
