Title: I'm speechless!.... Yep, I know that's a rare thing, but guess what!....

Just got a call from the Carers Assocation..... They are running The Carer of the Year Awards...

People nominate family carers.....

I have just been declared The Dublin Carer of the Year!!!!!.... AND I go forward to the finals for the National Carer of the year..... Sadly, the finals take place on the day I'm having my knee replacement operation, but hey, the op is more important!....

Meanwhile my local Carer's Centre is hosting a party for me on the evening of Oct. 29th to present me with my Dublin Carer of the Year Award... I have won a nice piece of crystal and a weekend away!!!!....

I know that several of you nominated me, and I very much appreciate it!... Trouble is, I'm SO embarrassed... I'm blushing like mad!!!....Wow!!!!.....

I'm STILL blushing!!!!!.... I don't see what all the flipping fuss is about!.... I'm just doing what I should do!....

I have no idea where the weekend away is... I'll know at the presentation at a local hotel on Oct.29th...

Bit disappointing I can't attend the National Finals (I'm down to the final four), but Cathy, the manager of the local Carers Centre is going to collect Mum from the Nursing Home, and bring her to the ceremony... So at least she won't lose out!...

More often than not it's just expected and not appreciated. You have more hurdles than most of your own to overcome, and you do that without complaining AND look out for your mum!!! That's awesome, and clearly we're not the only ones who think so!

I hope to have pics very soon.... Carers Assoc. had a photographer there.... What a flipping fuss though... They even had the mayor there!!!!!....
