there is a girl at north davitia dialysis
that has been on dialysis for 19yrs
she has been in the hospitol now for 3weeks
she has a bactrail diease where its eating her flesh you can see her intestines from her stomach
there not sure how much longer she will have left
she had a boyfriend which they were together for 10yrrs and he died a few yrs back
when kathy was in portland at the hospitol he would drive up there after work and sleep on
the cot next to her and come back and go to work
this man truly loved kathy
i dont know what kind of health issue he had
but he had died several yrs back from a stroke
he would give up by paying for his co pay for his meds
to pay for her...(thats true love)
so i wrote this poem for kathy and the resptionist went up to see her
and gave her the poem and she cried
you have a life
a living soul
that some may go and some
may stay. as you have
come along way
in this world
when it comes to health
as no one can really
say. we sit for hours
and wonder what will be
next
as holding our breath
with a loved one at our side
or a loved one that just perhaps
can be waiting on the other side
as we have found the beauty in one
that had kept a promise at one side
and made sacrifices for his own self
to keep his love alive
as there is always a tide of change
where the sea can shift any where in the turns
as the storms will blow
but with you at the gathering stone
you have strived to survive, but yet your mind
tends to be on the other side

A sad tale, bc. I can but hope that she finds peace soon. Your poem was a lovely gift to her.
