Title: Greetings from a Renal Social Worker
Post by: RachelSW on September 24, 2010, 02:11:06 PM
Hello all, I'm new to the forum.  I'm a Renal Social Worker in my first year of practice in the field, having worked primarily in community mental health previously.  There are a handful of reasons I wanted to join this forum, but ultimately it all comes back to the fact that I want to provide the best possible care to the people I serve.  If we are all the experts in our own lives, then I can't ask for more than to be educated by the experts on where they're at and what they need.  I love the community you have built here, and am grateful for the opportunity to participate and learn from you all.

Warmest Regards,
Rachel

g'day and welcome Rachel. I have a soft spot for Social Workers - even though I think I've had need to speak to ours exactly once - because my mum was a senior social worker who ran a major hospital social work department for years. So good to have you with us to learn more to help your patients better!! Great to have you with us!

Welcome Rachel, I'm glad you have a background in mental health.  You'll need it for this group!   >:D

So glad you are willing to learn.  Our diet isn't that bad if you like rice, chicken, white bread, and twinkies. Oh and eggs.

Hope you learn from us and we learn from you.

Wecome to IHD. We are happy that you joined us and glad to have you here. Oh, if only all dialysis techs and social workers would join us, it would make for better communication between them and the dialysis patients.
