My last minute donor turned out to be a real champ. A month and a week I'm setting here with a new Kidney and a better friend. The only problem I've had is getting my bladder working. I should be going home tomorrow Sep 14 if every thing is working.
I want to thank everyone for the words of wisdom and the faith to continue. And hope every one else much success

It's common for dialysis patients' bladders to shrink due to lack of use (for want of a bette expression) due to reduced fluid intake, so it takes time to re-train it to accept more normal, and more, fluid intake.
Hopefully it will get easier for you. Enjoy the gift!!!!

one week and I'm still home,all the burning in my feet is gone, how enjoyable it is just to sleep all night. No fever,appetite is good,and the milk is great. my first meal was Jimmy Dean sausage in a besamel sauce,or milk gravy with cheese biscuits.
I have to see a urologist next week to check my bladder and prostate, I hope medication will get all this stuff working again.
My prayers are still with all my friends at I hate Dialysis, and may God bless each and every one of you.
Normal people cannot understand until your so close to the edge.
I will give my new Kidney the best treatment ever, it would be a disgrace to you and my donor otherwise,

Here it is October 04,2010, I'm off all pain pills,my catheter is out and the only thing thing left is to get the stint out of my bladder.
I'm down to only one visit a week now at the clinic and I can drive. I find that I can't where my gun belt so I will be just carring a single hostler without a belt,I prob will never return to the street but I'm alive and that's OK with me. I will check in in about two weeks thanks all.

Have you named your new kidney? My first, I named "Newf" because it came from a Newfoundlander. I don't think I named the second one, though.
-
Bountyhunter that is great, I am so pleased for you.
-
Such good news to hear that you are doing so well now Bounty, and getting back into mischief I hope too. :cuddle;
-
How are things going, Bounty?
I sounds like you are doing well. Mine was Sept 1st and I still have most of my staples in, still have stent, labs twice a week and can't drive yet! I should be at your clinic!! Put I am compliant and will do anything they tell me to! Like you, I honor and respect this incredible gift and will do what ever I need to do.
Looking forward to your update. :2thumbsup;
