Oh Heck...
The man upstairs has some weird sense of humour... On top of everything, my poor mum has Parkinson's... She's got a really bad tremor... As she still hasn't been seen by the Age Related Team, three months after being referred, I decided to have a chat with her Neph... As it's beginning to affect her ability to do her PD independently, he was very keen to look at her...
He examined her and said that he's certain she has it... 'A classic Parkinson's' was how he described it....
He has decided to initiate treatment himself.... He too is fed up waiting.... She's been put on medication, Sinemet Plus... Wonder if anyone has experience of this....
Can I prevail upon you to remember Mum in your thoughts and prayers???... I'm now really very worried about my ability to care for her...
Thanks for listening, and for always being there....
God bless you all....
Darth...

I am sorry Darth, it is more news you didn't need. I don't have experience with Parkinson's but I will keep good thoughts for you and Mum. Sending BIG HUGS too! :grouphug;
-
Thanks Karol....
I just feel sick to my stomach... As if we hadn't enough to worry about... She doesn't deserve this!!!...
The joys of being a carer!!!...
Love...

So sorry Darth. Of course you and your mother are in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug;
-
Thanks YL....
Much appriciate that!.... I'm struggling not to swear at God at the moment... I can't pray at the moment, so I need to ask others to do it for me!...
Love....

Oh, Darth. Many hugs to you and Mum! :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug;
Gwyn actually takes a med normally prescribed for Parkinson's patients (he takes it for RLS, though). It really works for his issue and does not make him sleepy or really have any noticeable side effects for him. It is called Mirapex. I so hope that your mum finds her drugs just as tolerable as Gwyn does. You both are in my thoughts.

Thanks Cariad.....
I've got my fingers, toes, and every other crossable anatomical feature crossed at the moment!!!... Can't help feeling really peeved!....
We can only wait and see... Neph. says it'll probably be ten days to two weeks before we know if the Sinimet Plus is working.....
Thanks again for your support...

Darth,
I'm so sorry to hear this!!!!!!!!
I'm sending prayers for your mom most definitely!!
-
Darth, sorry to hear the news, my Sharon takes Ropinirol for her RLS, I'm pretty sure it was originally designed for Parkinsons, works well for her and no bad side effects.........
-
Oh for crying out loud Caro. I am so sorry to hear this. I will pray for Mum and hope this medication does the trick for her and ASAP!!!! Meanwhile, try to stay calm.
Love You
-
It ain't bloody fair, Darth, it ain't bloody fair. :bestwishes; to the pair of you.
-
I agree.. it isn't fair. I hope the medication helps some and eases her symptoms and allows her to do her PD still.
:grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug;

I'm so sorry about this. It just doesn't seem fair to you or your mother.
My father, who is 86, has Parkinson's disease and is doing very well on the medicatoin he takes for it. He does have to have his food cut up for him because of shanking hands and moves very slowly, when he's mobile. But the medicine has worked wonders to decrease his symtoms. I hope meds can help your mother too.

:cuddle;

I too will pray for your Mum, it makes you wonder what else life can throw at you.
Take care of yourself also Love Yvonne
-
Sorry to hear this, Darth. *huggles* for both you and your mum. Her neph sounds like a thoroughly decent chap though; kudos to him for initiating treatment.
On a lighter note, you might be amused to hear that I read your post a number of times trying to work out why you hadn't referred back to why the man upstairs has a sense of humour. I wanted to know what he'd done because I'm always interested in what the weird (and not so weird) neighbours are getting up to. Then it suddenly dawned on me what you meant. D'oh! *slaps forehead* ... I truly am so ridiculously slow sometimes.
*huggles* (because you can never have too many)

Hi all....
Really appreciate your support... I'm still feeling pretty peeved about this.... What I want to say to 'Your man Upstairs' is not repeatable in polite, or even impolite company!!!....
Poppy.... That story is BRILLIANT!!!.... I'm STILL grinning.... Erm, Poppy, what colour's your hair???... LOL!!!!!....
Love to all....
Darth...

e gads and little gold green fish, whatever that means.... when it rains it pours.........i'm so sorry to hear this. at least the neph did something instead of just waiting. hopefully the medication will work. i'll be thinking of both of you.
-

-
Keeping you both in my prayers!! :cuddle;
-
Well, thank the Man Upstairs that your mum's neph isn't faffing about and is going to begin treatment ASAP. Let us know what his treatment plan is, OK? I'm sure there is some magical pill out there that will help; sounds like other IHDers have some experience with this sort of thing.
Gosh, is there anything at all that we can do for you?
-
Darth,
I am so sorry that this has been added to the pile that already seems overwhelming. It's been a long road for you and your Mum. Please know that you are in my Prayers and Thoughts. God is with both of you especially during the really tough times.
Love to you :grouphug;
-
Poppy.... That story is BRILLIANT!!!.... I'm STILL grinning.... Erm, Poppy, what colour's your hair???... LOL!!!!!....
I'm actually a brunette, but very 'blonde' in thought-processing. I tend to describe myself as intelligent, but not clever.
;D
Hope your Sunday is being kind.
(edited to add that i don't mean for not clever to equate with blonde folk, gosh no, and i is just joshing. please don't whack me with kitkatz's stick. ta. :-*)
-
HEY!! What's with the blonde thing!!! I'm blonde!! LOL :beer1; Carolyn, I hope the mdication works for your mum and you are able to continue caring for her. :cuddle; :grouphug; and lots more!!!
-
:grouphug;
Hope the meds make a difference ASAP!
-
HEY!! What's with the blonde thing!!! I'm blonde!! LOL
Well, need I say more!!!... LOL!!!!!!..... :rofl;
Thanks everyone..... Mum's a bit weepy today... Bit overwhelmed by it all, I think..... We can only hope and pray that it works out....
Love to all.....

You and Mum are tied for first place on my prayer list. Mum for relief and medications to work. You for peace, calm, and knowledge that you are loved by so many around the world. When it is a really bad day, try to feel all our arms surrounding you, helping to lift you and carry the burdon. :grouphug; :grouphug; I love you and sweet Elsie and will pray, pray, pray. :cuddle;
