Title: was in the hospital with access issues
Post by: sullidog on September 03, 2010, 08:27:20 PM
I was in the hospital from 8/30 to 8/31.
I couldn't feel a thrill in my graft so I went to the emergency room. Well they found that the same place had narrowed that they fixed during the last fistula gram but this time it caused a clot. so they were able to disolve it and then used a vacuum to suck the rest of it out. Then they also fixed some more narrowing near the astimosis. This time they put in a stent so I hope this will take care of the narrowing problem. Then they kept me over night just because it was too late for me to dialyze me that day so they waited until the next morning then I was sent home.

It's running ok, but today it would only run at 400 for some reason, also the thrill and bruit isn't as strong as it was to me before it clotted off but the nurses said it feels fine to them.
My surgery was done by the radiologist because my vascular surgeon wasn't available and the one that was I can't stand.

Hope it works fine for you now.  A pump speed of 400 is good. At the centers here they will not run you any higher than 400 - they say it is bad for the fistula.
