Hi guys, hope I'm posting in the right thread!
I've been given the green light to be put on the transplant "list" (for want of a better word!) and received my pager last night. I have thought long and hard and spoken to other patients and they have all said that a transplant improved their lives dramatically. So it's just a matter of time now. I've been told the average time to wait is 3 to 4 years but you never know, watch this space ...

Great news , Matty. I think you made the right decision.
:clap;

Wonderful, wonderful news!! :2thumbsup; :clap; :2thumbsup; Hope you get a live donor soon, or a family is wise enough to not bury what can so dramatically improve your life!!
I posted on here about one of my clients getting a kidney in just a few days. She and her husband had just gotten home a day or two before, from the transplant center final review, and hadn't even gone over the info they brought home or packed their "quick get away" bags. He made the four hour drive down with her and then called their adult son to bring what they forgot to grab. :lol; That was almost a year ago and she's doing fine.
So plan for a long wait, but get ready go at any moment.

Lucky guy! I am still being put through the wringer to be listed! *sigh*

Good job! Joe didn't even get a pager, they told him that everyone has cell phones so they rely on that.
-
Thats great mattyboy, hope the wait is a short one.

Congrats Matty!!!! Always keep an extra set of batteries for your pager. I'm always checking my pager... cause it never beeps.. so I always look to make sure it's working... :lol; Anytime I see the hospitals phone number calling my cell, I get excited, but then it goes away when I realize it wasn't the transplant people it was just my dialysis nurse, lol... dangit!

That's wonderful!! I haven't even packed my "get away" bags yet.. I been waiting 2 years now for a call... so i figure I got time... since I haven't got one call in 2 years... I feel like I will never be called!! :-[ Being O+ sucks. :P
