There's still time to sign up for the NxStageUsers Meet Up and Conference in Las Vegas. We have some of the most prominent nephrologists coming in to make presentations. You'll meet other NxStagers and even NxStage Upper Management at the reception they're throwing

I would love to go but am having bi-lateral nephrectomy Oct. 1st so, I don't think I'll be up to traveling from Ohio. Well, maybe next time.

The 1St Annual NxStageUsers Meet Up and Conference was a Huge Success!! There were over 120 in attendance including transplantees, those on PD, in-center and 40 on NxStage alone. NxStage did an awsome job getting all of the supplies delevered not only to the hotel, but they were waiting in our room when we arrived. There were hundreds of boxes that they had to organize and get to each person. Kudos to NxStage!!
Some of the Medical Community in attendance were Dr. John Moran of DaVita, Dr. Robert Locridge who has the largest Nocturnal program in the United states in Lynchburg, VA, Dr Michael Kraus who led the FREEDOM Study, Dr. Alan Hull, Medical Director of NxStage Medical and Joe Turk, Sr Vice Pres of Operations of NxStage Medical. This is only a handful of the speakers that were in attendance. Others included Dialyzors and Caregivers/partners. This was a chance for the patients to speak and let the Dr.'s listen to us.
This conference was a first of its kind. Never before was there an organized group of dialyzors, care partners and caregiver that have come together with the medical community. It was a chance for the medical professionals to hear from those they are treating and a chance for the dialyzors etc to listen to prominent nephrologists in the country. The main concept from the conference is that we want optimal dialysis instead of just adequate dialysis. Dialysis needs to be individualized towards the person and not the current once-size-fits-all approach. We all need to work together. Professionals need to hear our stories and we need them to fight for us for more frequent daily home dialysis.
