Hi again;
I have not been on this board for a long time. After some of my favorite people here passed away, I was unable to come back....the grief for them, and the fear of what my daughter would have to go through was too overwhelming for me. But here I am again. Sandra is still on dialysis (5 years), and still waiting for a donor. She is doing well considering everything.....she is such a trooper (you all are).
I need some advice. We will be travelling to India at the end of Aug., and will be in the air for more than 20 hrs. Sandra is on peritoneal dialysis, and needs to do exchanges every 4 hrs. My concern is the risk of infection in the recycled air, and with all the people on the flight...we can't very well ask everyone to wear a mask during every exchange. This is a liifetime opportunity for Sandra, her daughter, and myself, and I would hate to see her health being jeopordized. If anyone can help with tips it would be greatly appreciated.
Hugs
Ulrika

I think it is fine without dialysis for 20 hours. Just drain it before boarding and fill after getting out airplane. The family room is a good place for draining and filling at an airport.
