Title: 2nd Donor down three to go.
Post by: bountyhunter_ga on July 22, 2010, 09:37:47 AM
Hello folks, my new donor has just completed his evaluation at Piedmont Hospital In Atlanta,Ga. The first thing he did when leaving the hospital was to call me.
Wow, can you imagine how good that makes me feel after my last donor only spoke to me if I forced him to.

My new donor advised me the that the young doctor told him he was about 15lbs over the  suggested weight. his answer to the young doctor was ,"When I was your age I had a 30" wast at 180lbs and jumping out of plans", My kind of friend,,
I think we will be doing this soon, wish me luck.
And here's hoping that the rest of my friends out in Kidney Land get one soon,I know the wait is rough, and thank you all for the encouragement to get through this.

Its been an unusual road for me this whole process,I have always been able to meet my enemy face to face  and oppose him. This has opened my eyes up on just how little we have control over our bodies.

We are always tested and some of us tested even more that's the part I don't understand. Why am I so lucky to have a resolution to my medical problem when so many others around me are still waiting.

The whole Dialysis program seems to cater to younger people or maybe its the medical system in general, who's important enough to save.

As a cop for most of my life now I always look at problems as if I can solve them not as other people see them. People are dying in these centers, why ? Is there no help for the wisest of the people as I was always thought about older people , now everything I believe is wrong.

God help this society if we are just letting the elderly people die when there is something that can be done. Who has the answers ?

I totally agree with what you said. I am 4 months post transplant and everything is going well. But I have survivors guilt when I think about the people at the center. I was only on dialysis for 2 1/2 months but what  I saw there broke my heart. by the way, I am also retired from law enforcement.
