Hi
Another newbie here. Middle aged male getting married in August.
started on pd at home that went bellys up and had to have a big op coz of sclorozing peritinitus mostled healed now but the couldn't close it as my insides were too swollen so they left it to heal over itself, still a bit of it thats not healed even after 2 years. am on HD now which I absolutly hate, I hate the feeling of being restricted and having no controll, I ahve no choice in the matter I have to go and I hate the way the staff think they are doing you a favour at the end of the day its their job and they get paid to go there if they want they can quit any time they want un like myself.
Am desperatly trying to get the new home dialysis machine called the nx stage one system but only on trial down south at the moment but will keep pushing to get it in Liverpool lol.
well have ranted on sorry nice to meet you all lol

Hi Knights,
So sorry to hear of the difficulty with PD, it sounds painful. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
I hope you'll be able to get home hemo eventually. Does your center offer nocturnal now? Maybe you could be one of their first, if they are willing to add a shift.
You might check out this thread http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=16177.0 - I have to look and see if there is any new updates regarding Kimal in UK. Check the news stories for current info.
Thanks for joining our forum!

:welcomesign; Glad you are here. Sorry you had such a bad tie with the pd and hate hemo so much. Nocturnal sounds good to me, if you can get it. Congrats on getting married.

Welcome to our community! And congrats on the upcoming wedding (PICTS, PLEASE!) So sorry how it turned out. With the others, I hope you get to use the NxStage. So you are a Liverpudlian! I was also born under the Union Jack (Barbados, now living in the British Virgin Island) so I am still a loyal subject of Her Majesty!
This is a great place for information and support. In fact, this is a genuine family :grouphug; caring and sharing. Keep reading and please keep posting.

Nice to meet you Andy!
Congrats on the wedding and best wishes. August is a great month to be married. :cheer:
We use the nx stage at home hemo dialysis for my husband and he's SO happy to use it as opposed to the in clinic one. Good luck with that.

Hi Knight and welcome to IHD. It is okay to say "HATE" that is what this place is all about. We can vent here and no one is going to tell you "at least you are alive"??? Well some people will, but WE KNOW THAT! It is just not quite the life we signed up for.
There is a lot on here about NextStage so read on.
