OMG, I am so pissed. I do nocturnal home hemo. I have been doing this (at home anyway) for nearly 8 years. We recently moved 220 miles further south and I'd like to get a new support clinic that is a little closer to home. Not to mention the fact that my current support clinic is becoming more and more anal about things and less and less supportive. This last week has been a week from hell for me due to water issues. They now have me doing in-center treatments and I feel like I'm being punished. So, this morning I called 6-8 clinics to find out about their home programs and good gawd you'd think I was asking them to rip off a leg and beat me with it. They ask me all sorts of questions but refuse to answer mine, tell me I have to get doctor approval to do the home program and even though I've been doing this at home for nearly 8 years they want me to come in 5 days a week for a month to "re-train" *their* way because they can't be sure I've been adaquetly trained. Seriously? I mean are you kidding me? Good grief, they make it so freakin' difficult I want to just scream. Seriously, I would really love to start my own dialysis center and run it *my* way, with comforts, and real compassion and understanding instead of nothing but rules which serve no purpose. The past few weeks have seriously made me understand why some people go postal. I'm actually shocked that more dialysis patients haven't lost it against clinic staff. I *HATE* my support clinic, I *HATE* the support clinic STAFF. They have no understanding, no compassion, no sensitivity and I truly believe that my doctor is now a complete JERK! My doc keeps telling me my expectations are too high - what? How can they be too high unless they're not willing to step up to the plate? I don't expect any more from them than I expect from myself. I try to be accurate and expect accuracy, what is so wrong with that. But they don't return phone calls, forget to order my supplies, forget to order my medsforget to write down this complaint or that concer, I mean where is the accountability. Sorry I just had to vent.

Great vent! Can you imagine being told "your standards are too high"? Get them a Bart Simpson T- Shirt that says "Underachiever and proud of it". Good grief. Just because you can do things yourself and right they want to dummy you down. Sounds like our Government!
I guess I'd go to the croporate office. Which company is it may I ask? No secrets here! ;D

Rerun ..not to hijack the thread ..but where do you get those Bart Simpson T's from? I would seriously wear one to dialysis as thats all they expect from me now !

I feel fortunate getting the very good dialysis care in Calgary, Canada.
One suggestion. Maybe one of the centers will eliminate or decrease the training time if you
show them how proficient you are.
Keep on venting, if necessary! :stressed;
